EXHAUST: 2 tents, 1 fan/filter?

Hi all, I am trying to save a little money, but only if it can be reasonably done. Hoping someone might be able to assist. I have:

3x3 grow tent has some mothers and clones under 6 2' t5s,
5x5 grow tent has 1000w HPS/MH conversion to flower girls

Would it be efficient to connect the two tents via ducting and use 1 exhaust. Let me explain:

Passive intake enters floor-level into Tent1, which brings in A/C'd air, exits out opposite side ceiling-level through ducting which goes down to bottom-level of Tent2. Then air is run through reflector, through carbon filter and then to the exhaust fan.

This will allow me to skip on the second fan/filter combo, roughly $200-350.

So the question are:

1) Would the funnel created by the ducting connecting the tents call for a higher cfm than would be needed if the 2 tent's volume was only 1 tent.
So: 3x3x7 + 5x5x7= 8x8x7 = 448/2 = 224 cfm needed in exhaust fan, but would ducting between 3x3 and 5x5 call for higher, maybe 300 cfm? Was thinking Can Max Fan 6" which has 3 speeds, medium being 264 cfm.

2) Would I also want to have a passive intake in Tent2, so that more cool air can be brought in for second room, or would this cause air coming from Tent1 to not be pulled through following the principle of path of least resistance, thus creating stagnate environment in Tent1?

3) In addition to a potentially higher CFM fan, would I want an inline fan in the ducting between the two tents to assist air flow?

me personal i would build a small box (air tight use a silicone sealant) with the 2 of the tents vent hoses going into it and then have the fan on another hose and the filter on the outlet of the fanuntitled.JPG

Wow great idea, and simple too. Excuse my ignorance but I had always thought that the filter went before the exhaust or doesn't it matter?

erm well from what ive read from a few veterans on here they said its the same both ways but as for and for fan speed i haven't a clue but all depends on how much air/heat you need to shift really as if u only have a small amount of heat i wouldn't really say you need more speed if heat isnt a problem like

yes you can have most filter both ways either sucking through or blowing through, i blow through mine just make sure there's no leaks in your ducting or the box your building so the smell carnt escape.

No need to build a box. Go to hardware store and in the section with ducting you can buy a T with corresponding 4",6", or 8" inch connections. You could also push air into both tents by pointing fan the other way (unfiltered of course).

If you want to make it easy effective and cheap (and not take up a shit load of space). Run ducting from the fan through both rooms. Put a T in the second room (the one closest to the fan)

Partially cover the pipe inlet (in the first room) and the t inlet with cardboard..adjust the size of the openings so that proper temps are maintained.

Done

And BTW..this veteran will tell you that the filter always always always goes on the inlet. ALWAYS

There is a reason there is a pre-filter on carbon filters, all that dust clogs the pores if the carbon and rabidly decreases the life of your filter. If your blowing air from your room INTO your filter your basically clogging the living shit out of it.
So in that respect, use the brain god have you..or if you are lacking just sharp powers of deduction..listen to those that do.

Cheers.
