Expanding....finally.

I'm talking CFM because I want to cycle fresh air from outside and remove air from the grow space, that's still important regardless right? And yea I let the bulb run for 12 hours and temps were about 80° so you're right I wanna get an A.C. esp if I'm going to add another light. Question, if I'm running ac does the duct have to go out a window? I'm about 20ft from the window lol
It all depends on if you are going to run co2 or not. If you want to run co2 its best to seal the room and just vent the exhaust of the ac out of the room. You dont want fresh air in a room with co2 your controlling everything and exhausting co2 enriched air.
If you are not going to run co2 just have a small fan for intake unless you are going to run cooled hoods then you would need an exhaust otherwise you dont need one but for the ac.
If you dont duct the ac exhaust out a window or the area it in where do you think the heat is going to go? It will heat the room its venting into. If its easier to make a hole by the grow than to use a window that is fine but it has to be exhausted.

if you are using a thousand watter at the start and plan on adding another, get at least a 8 inch fan or even a ten inch fan.i have had no problems with
M-8 In-Line Duct Booster 8" Metal
Tjernlund.i was running 3 of those when i had 6 600 watt hps and two veg areas.i also had a few 6 inch fans .the 8 inch is around a hundred on amazon.what is your ceiling height?are you in a legal state?even if you are, containing smell helps the stealth aspect of burglars or hassles with neighbors or police.in michigan i used the exhaust from my flower rooms to heat the house by venting my carbon filtered air into the cold air return of my furnace.if you plan on exchanging air with out side air instead of a/c.it needs to have a decent filter on the intake or you can end up with bugs.i am now running all leds (2 thousand watts)i still need a mini split for a/c even in the winter since the new house does not have a furnace system to dump the exhaust from the grow into the house and heat it.leds work great and need less cooling but upfront cost is more.i grow vertical so i have no advice on hoods.
i would build the walls out of osb wood .makes having to mount anything way easier and is not tha expensive.i then paint flat white.

Hey thanks for all the advice! And my ceiling height is 7ft, yea I'm a medical patient in CO. Yea I've been looking at mini splits, they are so nice! I'll buy that before the next 1kwatter, so it'll be ready to cool it all. Yea I ordered a vivosun 8inch fan(720cfm I think) and 1 4in for intake and another 8in for intake. How should I hang them? I'm in an unfinished basement so could i rig my exhaust from the 2x6s on the roof?(2x8s idk). Also what brand fans do you guys use for circulation? Any Lowe's or depot fan work fine?

What up, also in CO and growing in tents in my basement. I'm having trouble with vibration and noise from my 400 cfm can fan which is screwed into the 2x6 floor joists ( overhead) in my basement. Sorry I don't have advice on what works for hanging the fan, but I'd say my method does not work for me. I'm looking for a better option or ideas on vibration isolation.

Look forward to finding out what works for you.

get some type of thick closed cell foam or rubber and put it under the fan mounts to help with the noise

Good point! That's what I need to know! Lol thanks man. Also gonna invest in an A.C. I guess think it's gonna get to warm with 2 600w going(reflector wing not cool tube)

One 600w with a wing reflector in my 4x4 tent raises the tent temp about 6-8 degrees above room temp. I have a 6" fan pulling air from the tent and one 6" duct allowing passive room air into the tent. This summer in Denver, my tent is no higher than 81 at the top with lights on, lights on from 8pm to 8am. Plants look good but since I'm a new grower I'm unsure of how quality of effected by these temps.

With two 600's will that temp increase double?

With both lights running temps go up around 15°, but with the A.C. I'm sure I'm gonna be fine, it's at 85, so(this is argued) 85 is still okay...but not ideal. So with a portable A.C. 9,000btu should be able to get it to the 70s. I'm slowly building this grow room because I want this to be a very nice place to grow quality bud! Also how many harvest have you had so far? Organic? Hydro? Sorry I'm always asking about other grows always curious

I dont run CO2 but wouldn't 85f be close to ideal for CO2?

3 harvests, 1st was soil and totally shitty, then 2 in dwc in simple 5 gallon buckets.

hanging the fans with bungee cords does away with alot of the noise from the fan.works better then using door or window weather stripping between the fan and the floor joists
