Experiences with Timber Grow Lights

Ok so I'm a Newbie and I just wanted to chat a bit about my experience with Timber Grow Lights. I am very new to the whole LED scene and recently started looking at COB lighting. I read a bunch and watched a bunch and decided to just email TGL and see if they could answer some questions. Well first off Dan( you rock) answered some basic questions about the differences between CXB, VERO and CITIZEN chips in a easy way(thank god). He was also helped me get an ideal of what would work best in my grow area. He even explained that if I wanted to upgrade my system I could possible hook two 200w citizen kits together so I could run one potentiometer and one power cord which is what really put the nail on the coffin. Upgradable, YES!! I'm currently waiting for my 200w 4 Cob Citizen DIY kit(due to budget, wanted two)
But just wanted to say thanks to Dan and whom ever helped assemble my kit. Once I get the kit i will start a new journal from seed to harvest and see. Anyone else with good vibes toward TGL.

Cant wait to see what you do with them! currently saving for a light from Timber but going to go for a prebuilt. They say you can go to any pet store and get a UV-B lamp for lizards to to match CMH lights resin production. was thinking of getting a lizard light and setting it for 4 hours in the middle of the 12 hour flower cycle. Food for thought but they say it's not so good for you to be in the room when the UV-B lamp is on.

Never, in any other hobby that i have had, have I seen people so mindlessly promote a product so fiercely and mindlessly as this "COB" movement. 9/10 posts on the topic lean to if you don't cob you shouldn't grow. It's pathetic.

Lots of people make this whole lights thing more than it needs to be. I'm just giving some nice words to a company that seems to be cool and wondering if there was anyone else who had a good or bad experience. Take a seat a burn one with me breh breh.

Not really mindless it's pretty easy to research and see why people like COB's. It has electrolytes what plants crave

But really COBs seem amazing cant wait to find out lots of great DIY setups also.

I would say COB'S are the future , We can just get them now, They grow better plants while having far less heat, Using less electricity and they will give you more cannabis per watt then anything else. It was a win win for me , I built one and it was money well spent, If you use hps and are happy then that's cool, I still have one 1k running till I can afford to build a vero cob light to replace it, But I was not very happy knowing there was a better light source out there and I wasn't using it. After seeing the amount of light 218 watts of led puts out, there is no comparison .

Better light source than cob's yes there are some amazing things coming out and hopefully that never changes and the industry keeps innovating. But ATM it seems price wise COBS outperform traditional grow lights over the long run in performance and power consumption. For a non mindless plug with some data follow the link to see that COB's in fact are equal to traditional lighting but use half the power. http://www.cree.com/~/media/Files/Cree/LED-Components-and-Modules/XLamp/XLamp-Reference-Designs/HorticultureReferenceDesign.pdf?la=en GIve credit to Growmau5 for the link as i got it from one of his videos that light setup is still out of most of our reach as i think Growmau5 calculated parts at about $1,000 if your doing it DIY. Don't think any companies are actually selling anything like that yet premaid.

Sorry for the slight hijack MasterMiller
