Extra duty fees to the U.S for a Meijiu light from Alibaba?

Hello,
Was getting ready to order a Meijiu light from Alibaba and was looking over the order when I noticed this:

DAP:When the goods arrive at the destination place, you need to unload the goods and do the import customs clearance, and pay the import duty as well as any other destination port fees.

So I wrote them and asked if the price of shipping was included, and would there be any other fees. They responded that there should not be any extra duty and the price qouted included shipping to my door. But they could not guarantee "my country" would not charge an extra duty fee. She wrote me back and said as long as the order is under $700 there would be no fee. (Funny cuz the order is like $650.)

Has anyone ordered a light from Meijiu off Alibaba to the U.S.A? Was there an extra charge? Did the light ship to your home?

Yes you will have to pay tariffs, you can thank trump for that.

Here in Canada I pay about $20-$30 in duties fees per order, not sure about the price USA though

I seen the same message but i did not have to pay anything extra after she shipped it. i paid about the same price but i got 2 in one order. 1320 to mejui and 40 bucks to alibaba and thats it. (the 40 to alibaba was just to process my prepay card)
They either charge the duty during payment or they figure out a way around it, either way it should not affect your order at all. Most orders from them are very fast. mine took 5 weeks or so but no big deal.

Hey bk. Yeah I kinda figured there was gonna be some duty fees involved. If its only $20-$30 its not a huge deal. Still saving a huge amount of cash I guess. (Thank You China!) 650 watts far $650-$700. Samsung, Meanwell. Cant beat that deal any where even if you DIY I think...

The only way DIY is cheaper is if you know how to find the deals. 1 buck a watt from mejui is a hell of a deal. imo it cannot be beat.
They may send you an inventronics driver instead of a meanwell but thats no big deal either. Its great and works like its supposed to. Its identical to the meanwell 600 watt.

I argued with the lady over shipping. most folks get fast shipping for that price. The reason it took mine so long is because she wanted another 100 bucks each light to ship fast., i said no.
