i bought a 30 site ez-cloner,this is my second attempt no clones yet...anyone who can help please feel free!!!! I dont have a ph meter which i need desperately but i set the p.h around 6.0 .Using ezclone gel, fishtank heater in to keep water at 78%.strain is blueberry, plants are staying alive for 14 days then yellowing, the stems look brown and to the touch feel slimy ,should i keep the water lower to 68%,or maybe the rooting gel washing off the stems is raising my p.h ?Is the strain hard to clone? Should i cycle the ez-cloner maybe its drowning the roots ?thanks for you time....bongsmilie

i have mine set so the spray hits the walls and mists the roots, no direst water form the sprayers and dont be afraid to keep it hotter to build some humidity

check your res temp, i used to use a ez cloner and had a problem with the pump heating the water up too much which in turn made my stems rot and turn to mush... good luck

If you continue to have problems try adding some ewc tea to your water. At the very least, get a bottle of aquashield.

EWC - Earth Worm Castings

It's full of beneficial microbes which will help keep the stems from getting mushy. Aquashield alone is probably enough (it's just bacteria, no fungi) but I would still brew it tea style first with some molasses to activate and multiply the microbes.

If your water is staying to hot, freeze some 20 oz pop bottles and put them in your res... that should keep the temps down to a good level.. Also what I found works best is CLONEX rooting SOLUTION

i became having the same problems with my ezclone, the first couple runs with it was good results, then it just seemd like it was more trouble to deal with then just getting rapid rooters, the pump gets hot easy and will almost cook the cuttings but anyway my best results with the ezclone came from using root 66, and having temps around 65. Another thing when ever you clean it make sure that you soak the air hose that little thing caries alot of bacteria.

EZ cloners are nice but try cloning in promix, I get roots in 7-10 days and don't have all the headaches associated with the ezcloner..

i make my own easy cloners my res gets well below 60 and well above 80 at times. what you have is stem rot not sure what causes this i suspect its the neoprene being to tight. do you ad vitamin b-1 to your water??? i have also had some rotting when i dont ajust the sprayers and 2 heads cross spray on a clone site. and if i keep my cuts in the frindge to long befor i put them in the cloner. but i have never had all my clones rot out at once before.. all i use is tap water and vitamin b-1 i use anything with Indole butryic acid for dip i have currently clonex and greenlight rooting hormone

think i might have figured it out. i had the same problem with my sunleaves aero cloner(basically a rip off of the easy cloner). you need to add airstones. even in an aero system you still need airstones. i even had water temp problems as well, mine were about 80 but even at that high i still did fine. roots need oxygen. i use clonex gel but i think what you have should be fine. for best results keep your temps 76F or lower and remember, temperature also alters ph. if you get a ph meter keep it at 5.8-6.2 buy a digital one, the sticks are junk. so add some airstones and you should be ok. make sure you have a humididome also.

for cloning in my system i used clonex gel, botanicare power clone solution, botanicare aqua shield, and tap water.

heres a post i did a while ago with some pics if maybe your having the same problem. i never did fix my temps until i moved my system to a new location. but even with hotter temps, after adding a few airstones, it solved my problems.

hope this helps, GL!

So I was talking to my friend that still uses the ezclone and he said your problem might be that the inside of you res pump is dirty and could be infected with all sorts of shit... try taking the pump out and cleaning it very well and see what happens and also i think there is a solution that can fix that. I'll post it when I find out what the name of it is.

Power Cloner is better than CloneX, did a side by side. I use tap water set at 250ppm, then add Power Cloner to 450-500ppm. Add a little Myco Madness and i have roots in a week. No humidity dome (with an aerocloner???), no airstone (thats why its called aeroponics), no gel, no ice bottles. I run my timer 15 on 15 off. Havent checked my ppm's or ph in 4-5 days, never checked my temps either. Aquashield is good, i would have used it this time but my bottle is 2 years old, Power Cloner is 2 years old too.

I set my ph at 5.8 when i did check it, prob gonna check it again today since i have roots showing, 6-7 days after i started. Also going to add Roots Excelurator now.

I tried cloning in soil, and they all died in 3 days. I put some in a regular cup of water, dont know the ppm's or ph, that are still alive

i used to have some problems with the cloner also.. sounds like it is too warm and lack of oxygen in water. to be honest i switched to domes and rockwool cubes it is 100 times easier , no water changes and i go 2 days at times without even looking at them. the dome needs an occasional mist and 5-9 days they are done

Ive gone 4-5 days without looking at them or changing the water. I still dont understand how/why people say you have a lack of o2 in an AEROcloner. Its AEROponics, look up the definition.
