IMG_8909.JPG Anyone use this? If so do you plug the timer into this and the light to the timer or do you plug this to the timer and the light to this? Or does it matter?

If you plug the timer into that a shutoff will likely screw up your light schedule as well unless the timer has a battery backup.

That's what I was thinking too. Thanks for the input.

I think if you have a home grow this is absolutely necessary. This one ws 50$, but considering the possibility of losing your whole crop and possibly causing a fire, it's a no brainer.

This thing has a delay designed to keep the ballast from immideately turning back on if there is an outage. As far as the timer getting reset I'm not worried. The sensor has an led that lets know by turning on that there has been an event. I know what time everythig is supposed to turn on and off so I can just reset the timer but bypassing this feature would defeat the purpose of the delay.

So I decided the best sequence is

POWER - TEMP PROTECT - TIMER - BALLAST

For a few reasons. I want to be able to take advantage of the relay, it allows my ballast to cool before sparking it on again. I have a magnetic ballast so it matters, a digital ballast may not matter. If you have LED's then I'm not sure how hot it gets in your tent for this to be useful but I'm sure high temps can kill plants even in LED setups if there is no ventilation.

meh. cobs put out relatively zero heat compared to equal HID output. my tent ranges from 0-1 degree warmer than room temp

Well your post is relatively pointless. Your claims of zero heat are misleading. Do you use ventilation? You obviously do. I'd like to see proof of your plants thriving with no ventilation in a tent.
