Leave the fan leaves on. Prune off all small bottom branches that are not getting the light. This way, the fan leaves will continue giving energy to the plant, and the growth will be concentrated in the main colas and those branches that are receiving light. The idea is to end up with six to eight main branches that produce huge buds. Think candelabra.

When you say Prune The Small bottom branches...i take it u mean the leaves on the branches at the bottom? or just the little weak stems right at bottom :)

Take off the small branches around the bottom of the plants along with the leaves on those branches. If you leave these branches on, they won't receive enough light, but they will take energy from the part of the plant that is getting light. There are those who will tell you to take the large fan leaves off. Don't listen to them. The buds on the main stems will grow really fat .... in spite of the leaves being there.

Read this and it will give you an understanding as to why you have to leave the leaves on:

You can always get yourself a couple inexpensive CFL's and place them around the sides of your plants so the bottom buds get light. They're cheap and don't throw hardly any heat and you can pretty much have them inches away. Best of luck!

Leave the FAN LEAVES alone ! They are the power plant for the buds, make sure they get good light.
