fanaticus with 4oz instead of 8oz?

anyone have experience using 4oz open mouth canning jars as opposed to the ussual 8 for the PF-Tek.
any advantages/disadvantages besides yield obv?


also what would be the best way to use cakes to get another substrate ready if I have to use the smaller size?

Some advantages

Faster colonisation time( also less time for contams to develop), cakes take up less space when sterilising- fruiting ect, you can inoculate more small jars than large

i've had a lot of trouble scrounging my old 8oz jars (whatever the regular pftek type jars are) and finding those exact kind in stores... i've picked up 4oz wide mouth jars, pint wide mouth and half pint wide mouth jars (all super wide lol, not like my couple old 8's). are any of these preffered? or is there some other tek they could be used in.
I have around 6 of the regular shaped wide mouth 8 oz jars but they've been very used and dropped and i'm a bit worried about using them... my larger jars that I bought around that time for curing bud have all broken by now.
I'd like to do some sort of monotub so doesn't have to be pftek don't mind, grain WBS or other options would prbly be better if easier than using the cakes to inoc the tubs.
the pint and half pint have wider mouths than the 4oz/8oz so i guess that's a problem with grain?

edit: lol wow didnt realize half pint was 8oz..these half pint look way larger than what ive used and seen
