One of the biggest failures as new growers is overwatering. Keep a journal and watch the leaves.
defenatly seems 2 be my Achilles heel but thanks 2 this site and not stop reading if learned the soil i use canna terra pro i heard not to water till runnoff i find the soil retains moisture well i think ill get some perlight for the next run cheers 4 the input i apreciate it heaps :bigjoint:

Exactly...I went with soil because it's more control which should minimize plant death. I have 5 pets to clean up after already...I don't need leaking hydroponics as well. I use "the research, research, research aproach". I will ask someone if I'm stuck but between being raised on a farm, cousins whom teached me to grow during my teen years and growing a "regular garden" outdoors each summer makes it easier and more relaxing.
I treat my indoor garden as therepy not work. No stress, no anger should ever find it's way into the garden. Any negativity and I have to leave it immediatly, reset with a hit, a walk and a nap, then return to gardening.
Therepy exists all around us...all the time. All we must do is pay attention and care enough about ourself to find it and peace will come.

What pots you using giggle ??

If you go for one of the fabric smart pots it could potentially help if you have a habit of overwatering , they seem to dry out a lot quicker then the standard plastic pots IMO ..

Looks better then she did though :)

That's a great point. I researched the same...the fabric allows for breathing, aparently. This allows for more "even" and faster drying. So I imagine a grower should be vigilant to not over-dry nor overwater.
The biggest bennefits claimed are: time and harvest size. According to what I read. I also imagine the sides of these will fold down? If they do, this makes these cloth pots a hot item. Why? No more turning the plants upside down to repot. Ergo...less shock = less time wasted and the herb continues much quicker.
Could some grower please confirm this for me? I would put an investment into cloth pots for the fore-mentioned bennefits.

I've got a 5 gal fabric pot , didn't transfer out of it or into it but it does fold in on itself , it has no rigid form the soil you put into it is basically what holds the shape and the one I've got has hoops at top and bottom of all four corners to feed support canes in .

What I can comment on is I did find them loads better for watering then the previous plastic one I used :)

Nice...thanks for the info. I'll seek them out and price them. I hate having to invert the plants and have all the ground on the leaves to clean. I need those leaves for lunch smoothies.
