fast compost with oak leaves

honestly, i have a shit load of browns, i live on 11 acres of oak and pine, but unfortunately, theyre very acidic and take forever to compost, so my question is could i just dry grass out to make it a brown? or just shred the leaves into dust to spreed up the processes? i plan on addin some wood ash to bring down the ph but with the exeption of a few birch and some other trees i cant identify, im stuck with oak leaves (free but i want fast compost) dried grass (also takes some time, not as much id suppose, but still) and hay (which costs money, and i dont have any) lol

add alfalfa or alfalfa meal - that should bring enough nitrogen to the table to kickstart the thermal composting process - assuming you have enough moisture and biomass in the equation.

not sure if you can afford alfalfa meal but feed stores sell #50 bags for cheap - usually around $15-20

also throw the fresh green grass in with the leaves - you want green material...you already have enough brown LOL

i was under the impression they would just decompose slowly no matter what, but ur saying just add more green and itll get hot which is awsome cause my friend has a few horses and i can get all the shit from him i want, and my gf works at dunkin donuts and brings me home garbage bags filled with coffe grounds, thanks for the reply bro

and also, while i got ur attention, i read a few books about composting, some say after the compost is done the ph should be 7, regardless of what u put in, however, some say differently and most of whats being put int (oak leaves, coffe grounds, citrusy fruits) are acidic so my question is should i throw in some wood ash? i hear too much is bad but i dont want any ph problems
