Fertilizing seedlings?

I germinated my seedling in a rock wool cube and I plan on sticking it in a 3 gallon pot as soon as the roots start emerging from the cube.

My question is, how soon can I start feeding my plant? Or rather, when can I start feeding it and what to feed it?

Will a 1/4 strength diluted solution of 25-12-50 (Dutch Formula: Grow) be ok to give in very small doses to the seedling in the cube? How about: 45-00-10 (Dutch Formula: Micro)?

Thanks for any feedback :)

Like I said, the seedling is in rock wool for now (day 3 - first set of true leaves just starting to form), that being neutral and not having any nutrients in it.
I'm giving it some 5.8 PH RO water only for the the time being, every time I drop 5 ml on it just to keep the cube moist. Should I switch to tap / or Mineral water?

I wouldn't feed it till vegging and then only 2-300ppm. I would only use PH 5.8-6.4 water for the germinating and the seedling.

watch your strength's.... 200-250ppm's and find something with a high P value.. It will help with the rooting. I use superboost its an 11-49-9, and i mix about 1/8th-1/4 of tsp per gallon... And it comes out at 200ppms.

I say get some nutes with higher N than PK (5-0-0, 6-4-4) something like soul synthetics Amino aide, and mix it with some of there Trinity, and some micro at 2.5ml/g each and thats all you'll really need to use along with the occasional cal-mag when needed until the flip

hey GunRunner, I start to feed when the seedling show of defs and color lime (light green), thats when you can start feed seelding with ferilizers. Myself, i just germinated in the party cup 16oz-soilless (peat moss mix with perlite) the soilless dont get any nutrients...it take seedling to show the defs in just two weeks. Right now seedling is into 3 weeks and yesterday i put seedling outdoor.

its very important to read plants need, buddy. +rep for ya

4 nodes feed..... > 4 nodes......no feed that's my rule.
well its really not about how many nodes before you start feed...its all about strains...some of them dont need fertilizer up to one month before its show defs...all i do is wait till seedling s call for nutes by show defs. IMHO it dont have do with nodes. its about practice grow..its all about medium what you re grow...some people would germinate into OF soil or any soil that already have nutes enough for last one month...so as for this OPs he stated he germinated in the rockwool...you know whats rockwool mean ? no nutes ,nada.

I would treat it just like a seed germinated in coco fiber, no hard core nitrogen till 3 weeks or more, and then only a 1/4 recomended dose to start with.

~I never use soil that has any nutrients in it I didnt put there, so check ingredients closely before making a decision~

On seedlings I watch the cotyledon (baby) leaves as long as they look healthy no nutrients other than kelp or fish emulsion which can be used at practicly any stage without burning.
Like granny always said "we only hurt the ones we love", "a watched pot never boils"...

This is what I would do, I may be wrong, but have had healthy plants for many years.

12/12, day 33 from seed, planted 01-16-12, fertilized 1st time [Kelp 02-01-12] second time [1/2" dose FF grow big and Kelp [02-06-12],

Not a crop to brag about, but strong healthy plants without using buttload of chem N.
