FIMing vs. Topping

I'm debating whether to top or fim my plants, I've topped in my previous grow, was alright I'd say but want opinions on both thank you

I never have good results with FIM, always stunts the plant to hard, I have one in my current grow I fimmed and it is the only one that never recoverred and all the other plants were topped aggressively

Kinda like your girl .... Shaving her bare or leaving a little fuzz.

I'm for the topping using Uncle Bens method. Here's a pic of one that I topped.

I recently fimmed for first time & am convinced that it got the name because everybody misses on first try. You gotta snip or rip the baby bud & its shrouded in fresh soft leaves. Difficult to identify & locate perfect spot to cut. When I finally got it not only did it put 4 tops in the space of one but it made the rest of the branch grow like crazy too. Took a couple extra days longer to show results. the baby leaves grow up to be mutant fan leaves. this must be kind like what monster cropping is like. super cool & not just same thing as topping, the growth comes out all mutated in comparison to topping.

Well I decided to fim just cause I'm experimenting (I know some people will disagree with this) but I figured I should try it and see if I like it or not, just trying to gain knowledge! Thank you all! Will post some pics when I get some results
