Firefox w/Windows 10

I've been using chrome, but switched to firefox since it was already installed on my new laptop.
I may switch back to chrome because Firefox leaks memory like a dirty bastard.
It was SLOOOOOOOW as fuck, so I checked task manager & firefox was using almost 3 GB of memory!
WTF???
Killed & restarted the process & all is well -- for now.

Has anyone else seen this?

Nope. I use firefox, it's my fav browser. 3gb, that's nuts. Hope it keeps behaving itself. Good luck, bro...

I have no problems with firefox and i'm usually running 3 or more tabs at a time.

My apple will start using memory on a few sites with you tube .

the newer version of it (Quantum 57.0.4) seems slower to me as well and this is on a new desktop. I use Chrome

I never had this problem with chrome and will probably switch back.

Most of the time I hover around 800 mb even with 6+ sessions open.
BUT IT JUST HAPPENED!
Not sure why.
This one has proven to be a real bitch to repro...

Nope, I didn't dump the cache. Do you think it would help?
I only use Norton antivirus because it was free from my ISP. Which one do you like?

if it don't ease the leak it will only free up the pc some..? maybe

as for nortons the footprint is/was huge also a favorite with the us govt. ?

as for anti vir I go anything 'free' ..lol many about

ZoneAlarm free it is an outgoing firewall as well as incoming and outgoing matters more than what comes in, they have free antivirus too. That is what I use on any Windows system.

4gb is barely enough ram, you need more. Twice as much would be best. Cheap af on Newegg. That’ll keep windows page file (virtual memory) use to a minimum and will be the cheapest way to make your computer faster. If you tell me what make/model computer, I can post up a link of compatible memory.
