Hey all. I have been a member here for going on five years, and this is my first posts. I joined originally so i can discuss and look at ALL the pretty pictures.
DO NOT FORGET, alot of what I do is a mix of ignorance and thrifty-ness. I have some equipment but mainly I am doing this as cheap as possible. I do not have high expectations.
In the past I've had one failed soil attempt, from the get go it really wasn't destined to be good. Kinda just threw a seed in dirt and let it go. Needless to say, I got about 1 gram from it. It was sad, but like i said, there was no dedication, nothing. Just some CFL's and miracle grow.
Ok so on to my grow... Oh yea, I have NO IDEA what strain these are!! Not in a position to buy seeds, nor do I know where to get a clone.
Alright, so I made 3 DIY DWC bubble buckets, fairly generic (will post pics soon). They are Covered in aluminum tape (not duct tape). and #2 and #3 have a 5 inch net pot with hydroton and rockwool cubes in two of them. The third, which is #1, consists of a home-made net pot, hydroton and NO rockwool.
#1 started as a soil project and about at the 2nd week, I threw it in the hydroton, and in the bucket with just tap water. It was in shock for about a week and was getting very nervous, but understood, what i was doing and knew it wasn't favorable. Actually pretty bad. I rushed going into this as I am a tad impatient, I know right!! Horrible in this hobby.
It has since sprung back and is doing excellent in my eyes.
#2 and #3 I started a few weeks into #1 as they were kind of an after thought. But they are doing well. Started the seeds in rockwool in the dark, waited till the root was about 1" out. But at the time, the seedlings shot up to 3 inches. So i placed some hydroton at the bottom of the pot, placed the rockwool all the way down, so now all you see is about 1 inch of stem/ plant.
Ill update my PH later this evening. I do not know the PPM and do not know how to measure cheaply..... Part of my ignorance. I do check PH every now and then. Im using RO water and the nutes i am using are CNS17 grow and Bloom.
Lights, are CFL's each plant has 3 100w equiv. 5600k bulbs, seems to be doing alright, but that was ALL I can find locally. And I have just as many 2700k for flower.
I also have to start measure the temps of my res and ambient / grow room. BTW its in a 10 x 10 basement room.
I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton, but I am at work and its all not in front of me.
