if your ppm and pH are dropping, you need a complete rez change to establish the pH buffers of calcium and other things, your plants have taken up that stuff or it has precipitated out of solution.

hey guys havn't had much time for updates with the crazy period and all but everything going super good at mo, the bubbler girls not too far from switch now me thinks, soil not ready but no choice to switch over as i have no veg area, I have taken 2 clones of both LSD and Black domina and they are sat in a stealth cupboard in "root it" cubes Inside a humidity dome Under a t5 and on a heat mat sat at around 27°c......

looks like it's a little warm in there. leaves show sign of air temp being too warm.

I can see what you mean though some edges curling up a touch not sure why P.H has been fluctuating a lot last few days as they seem to be eating loads could be that maybe?

only look at pH second. look at ppm first. then wonder what your pH is.
use ppm to manipulate pH as necessary. if they both drop, the plants are probably eating a lot. as long as they eat and grow and look pretty good, they're okay.

Just a quick update with few pics all seems to be going good, have started the flip, taking an hour off the timer every morning and night till i get to 12/12, no sign of roots from the clones yet, guessing it could take a white to see roots sticking out through root cubes?!

I'll say why did you pick dwc for first grow I recommend soil for first grow till you gain experience?

soil is quite a bit different than hydro. no offense to anyone, but starting with dwc is fine provided you've done your research. it isn't that hard but there are a few key things to do to make hydro work well. my first plant was dwc and it grew to 6 feet tall without trouble. it can be done if you learn first, and try to avoid the mistakes that others make.

Hi, up untill now top fed dwc seems to be working great and for my next grow i am planning a 3 res 6 plant setup, I am more of a hands on kind of guy which i think is why dwc seems more appealing to me. Polish has hit the nail on the head there, Its the same as anything in life. Nothing is impossible if you do your research properly before hand and these days the infinate Google encyclopedia makes things a lot easier along with plenty of help from the guys off here.

you might consider avoiding the res idea and give each pot their own airpump. you won't have a circulating fluid, but it might be smart to isolate each pot. that way each plant will use nutrients at their own rate without affecting the others.

I had thought about this being easier for perpetual with dwc for moving them round etc but without having them all hooked up to a bigger res you would be topping them up every 5 mins no?

every 5 minutes is an exaggeration. no offense, but it is. It would be smart to check them several times a day if you can, but if you use large enough containers, they can go many hours without being checked. use a res if you want, but remember that if something goes wrong with the water/nute mix, they all get affected. if you separate them, you can deal with an issue or get rid of a plant without affecting the others or deal with plumbing issues.
