First Grow and Wishing For The Best!

Hello, brothers and sisters.

I introduced myself in another part of the forums a few days ago " still learning my way around the format. "

Cannabis and eating natural foods the last year has changed my life in ways that I cannot begin to express and totally turned my health around.

This is my very first grow and I wanted to share it and get some suggestions.

I am gowing these plants for mine and my wifes own use as we have both learned the Spiritual and Health benefits of Cannabis and eating natural and raw foods and our health has SKYROCKETED!

I am so greatful to the Great Spirit that I was lead " through bad health and pain " to find the knowledge of how to be healthy again and NEVER have to go too a Doctor for answers again.

I have done countless hours for months now on how to raise a proper crop and the kind of equipment used.

I have seen through my research so far that; " HPS and HID, are the two best lights to raise the plants under, but also that Flourescents, have produced some real potent buds and a sacrifice in yield is about the only thing that I have seen that transpires when using flourescents and of course a longer length of time to raise, wich I think is fine for the guy like me, that is just growing their own plants for themselves. "

Now, here is my setup and what I am doing now and I will also discuss what I want to add to these guys very soon and would love to hear any suggestions from others?

In the pictures you will see the big rubbermaid totes.

These totes are ( 48Lx18Wx12T ) and I have two rows of 4 to five plants in each tub, for a total of 8 to 10 plants per tote.

Now, I will be using a total of four of these totes too grow in, however; " two of the four foot totes only have five plants in each and those are my plants that are of the higher quality and the two totes that have 8 to 10 plants in each, are the totes that will grow what we call mid - grade around here. "

I am going completely organic, as this is what I have done to change my life as a whole.

My soil is Miracle Grow Organic " I know guys, but it is the only thing I could find around here at this time of the year and seems to be good soil, " and worm castings and I use very dilluted urine for extra nitrogen and will of course be making tea out of my worm castings and other organic materials to keep the plants in good nutrition.

As you can see, I only have one four foot T12 Flourescent on each row of sproutlings right now on the mid - grade totes.

However, on the two totes that are gowing the ten Carnival Plants, are 360 watts of T12 4ft Flows on each tote.

All seem to be responding and are working on about eight days old on the Carnival in the pictures and about four days old on the mid - grade.

Cannot tell by the pictures " for privacy reasons, " however the room gets a significant amount of sunlight through the windows also and faces the south side on the hill that we live on, so they do get some extra sunlight, but for reasons of security, I am not able to give them as much natural sunlight as I would like too.

I am hoping that they will do O.K. under the flourescents for at least a couple of weeks and then I am going to get a interchangeable HID/HPS bulbs and reflector and ballast for the rest of the job!

I will be working with anywere from 25 to 30 plus plants " yes all for us as we eat it and smoke it " and a total of about 24 square ft of space to do it in.

Seems that I will have to sacrifice some yield in this space and flower them around 18 inches, but that is O.K. and we are hoping that a 1000 Watt unit will be adequate light for this space?

Woo! I will slow down now my friends and hopefully get some great insight and opinions/beliefs from some of you?

Thanks so much and may everyone have a Blessed Day!.....TheNatural

P.S. The whole room itself is pretty big and I raise reptiles in this room also.

It is kept very clean and I run two Aller Air carbon and hepa filter purifiers in there and a box fan ( circulation galore ) and the purifiers are so good that you can have a joint and a bong going at the same time and smoke them and leave the room and come back in 15 minutes and there will be no smell at all.

Also the picture of the Carnival " wich are the biggest sproutlings " are twice as girthy now as these pictures are a couple of days old, Thanks.

very original +rep

Well, Mr. Growman that is were those big ole totes came in.

They were being used for some Boa Constrictors and I figured that they should work fine for plants and give them plenty of room for roots as they may only be 12 inches tall, but there is allot of space in width and length and the roots " should " be comfortable?

It does seem a little unique the way that I have them, but I hope to show a great grow as a result, but if not, I will humbly except it and start a new.

Do you know of anyone that has grown the plant called " Carnival? "

This is supposed to be a very potent strain and is 80% Sativa, but has a flowering time of only about 8 weeks, wich is pretty reasonable for a mostly Sativa Strain?

Thanks......TheNatural

they should have sufficient room
never heard of it and that is amazing for a sativa plant to have 8 weeks flowering
this 100% sativa is looking at 15 weeks flowering altogether
using 400 watt hps and cfls

Here is a picture that I just took of the Carnival.

They look pretty good at 11 days old and the little hairs that I see on them already, make me feel that this could be some very potent bud for pain, if I do them the right way.

Thanks, The Natural
