This is what I used as a guide to my first few grows http://www.growweedeasy.com

Its a good concise guide with ALL of the answers. This forum is great, but hard to find an easy guide than growweedeasy.com

Once you feel bored or fancy, take it the next level, then the next, and you're off!

I took a "small" sample from one of the ladies like 2 days ago. A bud from towards the bottom that wasn't probably going to get much bigger to make a big difference. Dried it was about 3/4 of a g. I placed it on top of my hood for like 30 min @ a time then turned it over for another 30 ish min maybe 3-4 times a day. Then would take it off and set it in between two small pieces of cardboard. Just lit it up and I must say I'm impressed with my work . The smoke is really smooth but full. It hits but not like a spaceship taking off. It paces itself and comes on nicely. The high is uppidy. The flavor is well. Taste @ this point is very nice and noticeable although I'm not ready to point the finger @ anything specific. It hints towards berry and like maybe some type of cake lol. No crackling, it stayed lit, and ashed well. After sampling I'm anxious to see what a good dry and cure REALLY does. I plan on letting them go another week-3 to put on more weight if the girls allow. Overall 8 weeks since switch, pulled right off plant, quick dry, no cure, no flush, nutrients and all and the shit is better than the shit around here. Probably some of the better shit ive had in my life

Congrats, sounds like your first grow is already a success. I’m not a soil grower, but I don’t think you will need much of a flush. If you liked the bottom small bud, just wait until you try one of the big tops!

It's been 8 weeks since I hit the switch. I have been flushing (regular watering with no nutes) for about a week now. Girls seem to still be "developing" but I'm worried about the leaves now. The ones near colas were banana yellow a day or two ago. Now they are shriveled and/or shriveling. Mainly the ones around the top of buds. I'm worried that these dead/dying leaves will affect my smoke lol. I try to leave whatever is on the plant on bcuz I feel the plant will "drop" what she no longer needs. Summing up should I pull/mess with the shriveling leaves, give a shot of nutes, or just let it be.

pluck them leaves off, your plants are BEAUTIFUL and doing what they do when getting close to finishing. Note my plant its an Auto on its 5th week of flower. I have a family member who has grown for over 30 years and I reached out to him about the same issue and was told it is normal for leaves to turn yellow and die towards the end of plants life as it puts all its energy in bud production 20171203_094730_1512312565037.jpg

I'm making the chop today. I watered them and something told me to "play" with some of the bigger colas. I opened one up and low and behold a little white patch of fuzz. Haven't checked for more. Don't need too. It's been almost 10 weeks since I hit the switch. My biggest girl still has a bunch of white pistals and shoots new ones out everyday. I planned on letting them go another week or two but I can't risk losing my harvest and the last 4 months of my time. I can't just cut one down because the way my setup is I can "freely" move the girls around. So I'm making the chop today. NOW actually. I have been reading about harvesting/curing and while i have some knowledge I was completely unprepared to harvest today. I have to order boveda packs and get jars etc etc. Signing off until next update with progress. Wish me luck lol

Awesome, enjoy! And don't worry, you won't need the jars or boveda packs for a week or more. Post some bud picks when you can, they always look best on chop day!

Any tips about the white fuzz? I was thinking cut it out and cut out a "safe" area around before I hang them to dry. I've read that washing in peroxide helps/works but idk. I'm hoping it's only a "little" bit of mold/fuzz so I can just cut it out and be done

In the middle got me. It seems to me that if you still have stuff growing they are still not done just saying. Someone who knows more than will have to advice you I wouldn't rush to chop until I was 100% sure that they are ready. Whats the trics look like

maybe a photo would help us determine what the fuzz might be, sometimes super frosty buds look fuzzy and that's a VERY GOOD thing! I've not seen white mold on buds, but I guess its possible?

Hmmm, I'm not sure, but maybe in photo 0395 the brown stuff in the middle might be some rot? But I'm really not sure and might be best to post the question and a photo in the Plant Problems area. You might get a quick response.

Rot looks like shit that's gone moldy. Also, the flower will snap right off there in the rotten bit if you poke around at it. (don't mess with it in your grow room until you are sure).

So I went to water my girls and on one of my plants that's starting to purple real good I think I've found what y'all can "nanners" but idk. I marked by them in the pics. If they are nanners what should I do? I switched to 12/12 10wks ago. I really want to see that purple come out lol. I have 3 plants in here total. 2 look some what ready or very close. My biggest girl still has white pistals everywhere. Help me with what I should do don't want to lose my harvest. Cut them all? Cut the hermie if it is one? Pick the nanners off? Or let it just run its course since I'm so close to harvest?

Might be manners, hard to tell for sure. Just leave then there, they are really imbedded into the buds in my experience, would probably be destructive to pull them off. Takes a long time for a manner to pollinate and get the plant to make seeds. 10 weeks is plenty of most strains, what stain is this?
