First Grow & New Grow Room

My First Grow & My New Room
So I finally finished constructing my grow room. The dimensions are 9FT X 6FT X 7FT tall. The 400 MH/HPS (with both bulbs) is on it's way as is my hydro drip system and seeds. While I was waiting for the goodies I germinated (paper towel method) several bag seeds that I had lying around. Weed source for seeds varies from mids to real good dank/headies (strain unknown). Well low and behold 8 seeds germinated and my equipment was still not here! So I went ahead and started a temp soil grow to get them all sprouting. After that I will have to transplant them to my hydro setup (should be here this week). So this is more of a trial run than a first grow leading into my first grow but what the heck. I have pics of my room and the ghetto setup until everything arrives. I plan on building a cabinet within the room for cloning and then possibly divide or expand it for a veg room and flower room... we shall see! I will update frequently so any advice on anything and everything I am doing, should be doing or should not be doing is appreciated. Thanks!

Amazing really... LOL

So now I guess I just sit and wait?

Thanks for the replies... I moved the CFLS down some (see pics below). Also, at what plant height/development should I kick over to 400W MH? It showed up today! Also, I swapped out shitty nutrient enriched soil for top soil with perilite. A few sprouted but I lost a few seeds in the moving process... oh well got some more seeds from some nice weed this weekend germinating now. WHERE THE FUKC iS MY HYDRO SETUP???!?!?? DAMN EBAY.

Well transplanting them into soil/perilite mix (is that good/bad?) seems to have worked ok... they all grew some since last night. How often should I water these?

Got some updates for yall. Since my last post I installed the 400MH and also germinated good seeds - 5 cali skunk and 5 free unknowns from seedbank. They sprouted and just tonight I put them under the MH in hydro setup with soil plants. All comments, advice or criticism welcome!

Ok so I germinated the good seeds in this new germination station (lid off for pictures). Came home tonight and they all grew some! Can't wait to get these guys in the hydro setup. My soil plants grew a little bit but not much change....

Yeah... haha we shall see how it goes. I am going to use the 'Lucas Formula' for GH nutrients rather than following GH's instructions so we shall see how it turns out. Temps are hovering around 78degrees with the MH going 18 hours... is that too high?

Fresh pics... seeing some growth and the sprouts seemed to have taken to the MH fine. Moved it down about 8 inches tonight and will probably drop it tomorrow again. The back right hydro plant was transplanted from soil. He seems to be doing OK, I was concerned because I man-handled the roots a bit.
Let me know what you think. Also, when do you guys normally start adding nutrs to the water?

Well my computer crashed last night right in the middle of my grow update so this will be short and sweet. Some change not too much... just started GH nutes on hydro and will probably mix a small amount for use on soil plants. I am in the middle of building two bubbler buckets out of 18 gallon tote/crates and also a system of pulleys to raise and lower the light. Will post pictures when they are complete. Lastly, I was planning on transplanting my soil grows into the bubble bucket but my previous transplant isn't looking so hot (last picture attached below). Any advice on transplanting from soil to rockwool for hydro setups? Thanks!

Well I created a seperate post but I finally nuted these guys... and managed to go to 750ppm! I diluted with another 8 gallons of water and now I am running about 500ppm. Plants grew some since last night which is awesome! The soil plants look kinda funky though.... well the lower leaf set on this one plant. Think these guys need to be transplanted??

Let me know what you think!

The discoloration happened like overnight too... I did feed these plants with nute spray (500ppm hydro mix) but all else look good.

Well I came home after being away since Saturday morning to some wilted soil plants and some crazy growth from my hydros! The soil plant that was transplanted to hydro is looking AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Check em out!

I think they will bounce back but now I am going to have to wait to transplant them to my bubble bucket setup.
