How are you going to keep your reservoir cool?

my ambient temperature here is from 25.5 °C
(77.9 °F) to 28.3 °C(82.9 °F) depending if it is the rainy season or summer. Do I really need to cool my water reservoir? Damn from my knowledge on overclocking computers I think you are thinking of a chiller right? Those are expensive... Or are there cheap models or other alternatives if I really need to cool up my reservoir....

2 x Morsen 2000W Double Chips LED Grow Light Full Spectrum
I looked up this light: this is what you need to know...

Avg. Power Draw: 365W

These aren't 2000 watt lights. They are inefficient 350w lights, and 700 w is not enough for a 5x5 tent.

Sorry. You will be better of with a 600 watt hps, which will still be under powered, than these lights. The coverage area will be better - the light from these led's is highly paralleled, meaning there isn't much spread. An HPS with a spreader will do a better job than these old tech blurples.

If you really want to go LED, go diy and look at quantum boards or cob's.

You will likely need a/c in either case. You can't cool hot with warm. It doesn't really work.

But rather than spending your entire egg in one shot, where you will surely buy crap that you will have to replace, why not start small? Get a 3x3 tent, one light, and get a few grows in with soil instead of hydro. Learn what works, and how plants grow. You can always get a 5x5 later and use the 3x3 for veg.

Sure, it takes time, but what doesn't?

Just sayin.....

I really don't have the option of going HPS for reasons I can't explain... but yeah you might be right about going small first let's see what would fit my budget.... because the next step eventually is a perpetual grow setup. I was thinking of getting 3 of these lights instead. I know how a lot of people don;t like china products but I just need them to last me like 4 grows and then upgrade to the more expensive LEDS. :)

You definitely need to keep the reservoir cool. Water temps over 70f are a no no in DWC as above that you are at risk for all manner of beasties to begin growing in the res. It's important to decide if you are going to try for a sterile reservoir or if you would prefer to use beneficial bacteria to keep your root zone healthy.

I get led's; I grow with 2 quantum boards in a 3x3. If you do go with a 3x3, you can get away with one of those lights. Just don't put them too close to your plants. If you put in a hydro table, they can end up within inches, which will be way too close since they aren't dimmable.

Can you point me to links for sterile or the beneficial bacteria method or teach me.

Do you have a link for those quantum boards? I am going DWC not using tables :)

I'll try to dig up some links, but the basic idea is to keep any harmful bacterial or fungal growth out of your reservoir. The sterile approach involves using temperature control and a sterilizing agent (if needed) to keep your res completely free of organisms. The beneficial approach involves using helpful bacteria to keep harmful bacteria at bay. This is usually accomplished through the use of products like hydrogaurd or great white.

Not dimmable? What boards/drivers are you using?

nice I already have hydroguard on my list but even if I do I still need to keep temps under 70f right?

I was thinking to lower costs \and get the best lights if I start with a 2x2 will that be enough for a seedling cloning tent in the future because my final setup would be 2 tents one for seedling/clones 1 bigger tent for flowering/vegging I won't really need a 3rd veg tent since the flowering tent will be used for vegging as well. I will be doing DWC hydro.

The reason I chose Hydro is because I live in a place where there are a lot of neighbors and carrying soil around would be suspicious......

Hydro is fine, just realize it will react very quickly to negative results. In soil you might have a week to react to a problem, in dwc you might have only a few days.

What is the temp of your fresh cold water supply? If it comes from a well in the 50's, you can set up a copper immersion coil and just run rap water through it on a controller. Just a thunk.

Yeah I read those risks.... :)

Just ordered an aquarium thermometer will answer here once I get results.

I'm just a noob here, but I thought copper tubing in a Rez with an acidic solutionis a big no no? Wouldn't that leach too much copper into the Rez, that's why the expensive chiller's have titanium or stainless steel coils.

Shit things can go south in hydro in hours
