First Grow - Soil and Nutrient Information

Hello im a new member and I'm experimenting with my first grow. I currently have 4 clones that were cloned in rock wool and then transferred to Dixie cups with coco coir. I have since transplanted these clones into Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil straight out of the bag with nothing added. I did water the clones with distilled water and an addition of Fox Farms Big Bloom Plant Fertilizer (which I later found out was wrong because I need something with a nitrogen content for the vegetative stage) I will be watering again with just pure distilled water on the next watering to try to clear some of those nuits away and start from scratch. My question is how should I begin feeding? I ordered a ph kit from Amazon to start testing the ph of the water I'm feeding the plants (will always be distilled) I'm wondering if I should begin adding vegetative nuits along with cal mag at every other feeding? Any advice on this? From what i have read and what I have been told I have LOTS of options. I was also even prepared not to give any extra nuits for the first few weeks since the soil already contains them. What do you guys recommend or have had success with? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

P.S. sorry for the LONG post

If this is your first time I would wait at least 15 or so days to feed as ffof has enough in the soil to carry a small clone for a bit. That being said start light with the veg. Nute and go 1/4 strength rather than what' on the bottle. By the sounds of it you are still in good shape. The GH ph kit works ok to get a close number but I recommnd getting a hanna or blue lab ph and tds (ppm) and don't waste time with cheap junk that Never lasts imo. If this is somthing you want to do and keep doing buy it once and it will pay you back in a few grows and not have it break in the middle. Start a journal and members here will help you make your first grow better than you alone can without experience. There is alot to learn here. I learn somthing every time I am on here.. first grow start light when you start feeding and ler the plant tell you what it wants and dont over feed. It is easy ro work up rather than correct for over feeding. Just my experience maybe Someone else will chime In. Wish you the best of luck!

You shouldn't need to feed anything for a few weeks in Ocean Forest. Just water when the plants need it for the next couple of weeks. Basically just leave them alone. Giving them good light and proper temperatures is the only thing you need to do for now. Don't be in a rush to start dumping nutes and additives on them. You're using good soil. It has everything the plants need already. I wouldn't bother with distilled water unless you have issues with well water. Most tap water is perfectly fine. Just check the ph and adjust accordingly.

Good luck and Happy Growing!

Ffof soil grower here!
Yeah hot soil for sure. Only amendments I'd add to the soil prior to using would be some dolomite for added calcium and magnesium, and some perlite for extra aeration.
I go from solo cup after 2 weeks then to 1 gal of FFOF for about a month, then uppot to 3 gal same mix, water the whole way thru. finally feed bloom nutes 3 to 4 weeks from flip.
This works for me. But everyone's situation is different.

If you do up pot size I recommend the added perlite to the fox farm. I have done 30-40% with great success. Is it needed no but will it help yes. Every post here is good info that I recommnd following. Every strain is different but min. of 15 days before feeding but I make it to about 20-25 with no added nutes. Thus has been my experiance with fox farm ocean forest. Depending on veg size you may not need the veg nutes if you flip before it' needed. Best of luck!
