Not sure where the pic's are, after i uploaded it said it had to be okayed by a moderator or something....oh well....i have a couple kiddies growing under a 15W Warm White floro...i take them outside during the day and put them back in the grow space under the 15W floro every evening before sundown so they are pretty much receiving 24/0 light....if my pictures ever make it up you will see i have about a 5 inch baby and a fresh newborn straight outta shell a couple days ago....the 5 incher is close to a month old i guess and its been thru a move and everything and didnt like the new home since it has more critters wanting to feast on it here, but all and all i think its doing okay and want to get a better light setup since i know very little bud is going to develop under a 15w bulb and the hours of sunlight it gets during the kids visits outside....unfortunately funds are majorly lacking so i cant afford a HID bulb im thinking of doing some CFL's after doing alot of reading different posts but not quite sure what i should get,i saw at Wal-mart i could get (2) 42 watt CFL's for 16 bucks or something...says they are equiv to 150watt bulbs...would those be good CFL'S to use???

I was fooling around in the shed today and a stroke of genius hit me as i gazed upwards and spied this hanging from above, it seems to have (2) 40w bulbs which would be a welcome addition to my 15w mini tube LOL

What do you guys think about my find? im not to sure how i would wire it up safely so i could use it...i was scared to death taking it down from the shed (made sure power was off 5 times before i cut the first wire LOL)...ANY IDEAS HOW TO WIRE THIS UP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED OR OTHER OPINIONS FOR THAT MATTER :)

Ok a little bit of good news finally, i got the light i found in my shed working and it seems to be doing ok so I added it into the grow area...I've been trying to find out how many lumens it is producing but the info isnt that easy to uncover; but on a website i believe it said somewhere around 2,000 lumens per bulb so im thinking 4,000 lumens total with the addition of this new light hopefully.....even if it is a little bit lower thats fine with me cuz at least its more lumens than i had before with my 15W mini tube....that 15W mini tube and outside sunlight has been what has produced the plants in my pic's and i think it did a good job getting to that size but it is lacking in growth and it's time to get some growing going on!!!!! actually i think the mini tube would be more used during the flower stage since it is a "warm white" bulb....i take that to mean it is closer to the red spectrum or maybe around 4000k or something....not that the 500-1000 lumens it is putting out really makes a difference by itself but when the flowering stage comes(if we make it)that little M F'cker is gonna be used in conjuction with other sources to give them a blast of nice flowering rays :)

. those will work just make sure you get the 65000 k bulbs the ones that have a blue spectrum cool or daylight are the ones that you want for veging the warm are more red in color around 27000 k. those are for floweringfor more infomation look through the grow faq at the top of the page. its dchalked full of useful info. if you can aford it get a high wattage cfl off the net.

ps you might want to only let them get 18/6 light so there roots candevelp faster &betterthe better your roots the healther your plants. and bigger bud during flowering. gl on your grow. don't go by the bulb equiv the higher wattage the better look at how many lumes they produce. i have some 23w
that put out 1500 lumes each says they replace 100w bulbs. wating to replace my 150w cfl 7900 lumes.

As a matter of fact i actually did pick up a CFL but i got the 42 watt,on the package it sayssomething like 2700 lumens i think(threw it away) but i noticed a difference between bulbs. Some of the 26 watt bulbs were 6500k marked on the pack but not the 42 watt which i went with the 42 watt and it says "general purpose" so im not to sure where it is as far as spectrum, the light emitted looks more red to me...when compared to that floro light i have you notice the difference in spectrum..the floro is a 2x2 day brite with 2 40 watt bulbs and definitely looks bright white or bluish but that 42 watt CFL looks alot "redder"

Walmart has the 26watt 1600 lumen 6500k bulbs. The 42 watt ones that they have are 2700 lumen but are very red. You can look them up on the company website. Use 26watt bulbs for now.

ya i was kind of thinking out loud when i first switched it on "wow;this is really red" but unfortunately its the one i chose and my budget is broke now LOL...my little operation is so truely ghetto i will be amazed if i get any smokable bud,but ive seen some amzing looking smoke in these forums that came from lamps and set-ups that majority of people said would fail....so i figure what the hell i'll give it a try....you never know!!! anyways by tonight i should be totally set-up and ready to unveil my ghett-fabulous handi-work for anyone interested in seeing it.

I prob let Agnes vegetate another couple weeks, possibly another month since yesterday was the first dose of nutes,i had been taking outside each day but i think im going to leave in the grow room from now on...it was also mentioned i should possibly try 18/6 for stronger root developement so im thinking about that as an option too

btw...in case anyone is confused about the names of my kiddies.....i started with A and im going alphabetically......So A is for Agnes (my oldest plant) and they will correspond like that....the further along in the alphabet there name is will be in relation to their ages :) Cleopold is the youngest that i have right now which sprouted 07/04/2007...Agnes sprouted the last week in May if i remember right and my middle plant is Beulah and sprouted the last week of June...sorry i went out of order but basically it is this: AGNES is 5 weeks old....Beulah is a week old....and Cleopold is about 2 days old as of 7/05/2007

that shouldnt hurt your plants. i think they will be exactly the same because they can only take in so much lights anyways.
