So I've spent hours on Amazon looking for another light. This will just be supplemental light for flowering. I don't really want another HID light because of price and cost of electricity and also heat. So something efficient, and in the $60 range. Listed wattage versus actual watts at the wall has got me all confused. Any suggestions would be appreciated... I was looking at the mars hydro 300w.. not sure if its worth it. Can I just add four 23 watt CFL's 2700k and call it good? It's a 4 ft × 3.5 ft and I'm running a 400 watt HPS right now... leaning towards going with the CFL's

Both of my bagseed plants look to be female... which I was not counting on. That leaves me with 7 plants and not enough light.

Blurple lights are better than CFL

QUESTION

My Humboldt green crack responded very well to lst. Its my tallest plant even though it was vegged for 24 days. The NL1 vegged for 42 dsys. But now were 17 days into flower and the newest growth on the top seems a little thin and droopy and the tips of some leaves are curling up a bit. Nothing too serious I don't think. I've only fed twice, one with tiger bloom and once with cal mag, both at about 5ml per gallon. Maybe nitrogen toxicity?. The other plants are doing great. I've noticed the ones that I vegged the longest are the flowering quicker than the others. I'm using fox farm ocean forest/light warrior 60/40... 400w hps. Average temp 72.. humidity has been high, average about 52%...here's a pic

textbook clawing. This is a sign of nitrogen toxicity. You look like you are in smart pots, but you are still in soil so you have to be careful on how much you feed her. I highly recommend trying coco on your next grow.. in soil when you see a toxicity, all you can do is feed her everything she needs with 0 - ZERO - NONE - NADA nitrogen.

Be sure she is only getting 1/2 the nitrogen she used to since she is flowering now, taper it off. I only give my baby 1tsp a week of nitrogen now, generally on a random 1/2 gallon hit of floragro (veg nute) and a 1/4tsp hit of calmag now.

You need to cut off all of her nitrogen right now, you will see the leaves twisting up like a spiral slide on those badass wooden playgrounds, but its only on the tip and the slide goes uphill usually once it twists up. :( shitty

Thanks for confirming nitrogen toxicity. Hopefully I can save her. She will get a nice flush in a few days.

UPDATE!!!!!

A lot has changed since I started this thing, and it is still a work in progress. Still getting better and learning for my next go round. Let me try to get anybody following this a recap of what i have.
2 Northern Lights
1 Red Dragon
1 Green Crack
1 critical
2 Bagseed
Day 24 of flower. 7 plants in a 3.5 × 3 space.

Got my 300w mars hydro. Should have more than enough light now for my girls to thrive. It raised my temps considerably. About 4 degrees. I have 1 400w hps and this mars 300w. About 53w/sq ft. The mars 300 is mainly for the 2 bagseed. If it lasts through the warranty, i will be pleased. Check out all the pics and give me your feedback. Now on to where i left off.

My green crack seems to be recovering well from nitrogen toxicity. She got a nice flush. She is stretching like crazy. She's almost a foot taller than the others so I'm pinching her down a bit. Basically supercropping.

One issue is bad drainage. I haven't watered the majority of my plants in 8 days and they look just fine. Should've added perlite but skimped on that.

Day 24 flower

Hard to achieve an even canopy with so many different plants that grow differently. Or maybe I just don't like to bend them enough. All in all I think everything is going well. I counted 35 colas on 7 plants. NL flowering the fastest. Red Dragon still stretching.

Temp sitting at 79. That's with the exhaust fan running constantly when the lights are on. Humidity around 50%. I wasn't expecting an LED to put off this much heat. Might have to tinker with it to get the temps a little lower.

Pistils on my red dragon are short and stumpy. Never seen anything like it. Beautiful plant though. Day 29 of flower. Girls look pretty good. Some other pics as well. Feeding tiger bloom and cal mag. They have responded well to added the mars 300w.

Day 42 of flower

I had some trouble with my green crack and red dragon being so much taller than my other indices. They got a little light burn so I rearranged everything so they all sit fairly level. Everything else is going according to plan. They are fattening up and throwing out trichs. Green Crack, critical, and B.S. 2 look like they might take 2 weeks longer than the others. But most look to be well on there way to being done in 60 days. I count from the flip.

You can see the light burn on the green crack here. The best plant seems to be my NL2. You can see it to the far left. Top + LST is the way to go.

Day 49 of flower
Ive been feeding heavy. Every watering. Just to get a gauge on how much my girls can take. Previously I was feeding tiger bloom at 5ml per gallon. I've worked my way up to 10ml per gallon, with no ill effects. Until a few days ago I noticed a few Brown spots. A pattern of small Brown spots on just a few leaves. My theory is toxic salts buildup in the soil. Probably due to light watering, not much runoff. I water lightly because the drainage is not great, if I water heavy I could go a full week without watering again. And that is not ideal. So I plan to give it a good flush next watering. Should take care of it. Other than that little issue, my plants are thriving. Starting to plump up nicely. Really excited to finish this out. Already got my seeds ordered for my next grow. Goji OG by bodhi. Anyway on to the picture updates. I'm starting to make peace with the idea that none of them will be done by day 60. We will see.

Bagseed 1.. I ran 2 Bagseed for experimentation
I sort of got what I expected. My 2 smallest plants by far but BS #1 is the frostiest girl I've got to this point, by far.

Critical.. she's seems like a procrastinator

Red Dragon.. rock hard buds, seems to be a quick finisher. Medium size plant, not the champion I thought she might be in veg. But a cool, different plant to grow. The pistils are unlike any I've seen before, they are thick like a stump almost lol. If you seen my previous pics then you know. Can't wait to smoke it. You can see some light burn on the bud, the Brown spot. That happened over just a couple hours after rearranging some plants around. Glad I caught it very quickly.

NL.. you can see some hairs turning orange.. dense buds, true India. Short but stout plant

Last update until I'm ready to chop something. Hopefully 11 days or so.

QUESTION NEED ADVICE

day 63 of flower. Today i picked a seed off my NL2. Obviously some pollen sacks formed on one of my plants and pollinated this one. Or it pollinated itself. What steps do i take now? I havent seen any nanners. Just this one seed. Do i chop? Do I search for nanners? I only have a few more weeks max till harvest. Advice please..

sometimes plants will hermaphrodite or stress in other ways will cause seed or pollen sacs. I would just keep an eye out for them and you should be fine

Day 69 since flip to 12/12.. Bagseed 1 gets the ax. Very small yield but very frosty, A+ on the bag appeal imo. I ran this bag seed for experimentation. The quality exceeds expectations. Yield does not.
