The Cobb thing sounds pricy in my eyes! This summer im running a 240 line into my room for all the lighting... probably going to add another 1000w hps and swap the 600 hps for the mh... run 2kw of mh and 600 hps for veg and 2kw hps and 600w mh for flower... all will be so much cooler and efficient with bigger energy supply...
Super nervous and hesitant to do a larger scale grow with led... but I do have these puppies starting for my outdoor grow this year under led light...

There are just so many options ando not enough space! Lmao

This is what I use with flexible air stones or air injection.
Air pump is super quiet and I sleep in the same room lol, the loudest thing I have running by far is my extraction fan with carbon filter attached 6 inch duct fan. Heard of people putting them in boxes with foam or pillows but do your air pump not get to hot ie pump hot air into you system?

Mine is 60lpm pump going just to 4 pots, I am also flooming my circulation pump and have my chiller return waterfalling but these only do this in my res not the buckets them self.

Not worried about the roots at they are going crazy.

Might try running the mh at the lower setting as this is on a digital ballast and the hps is on a magnetic. Might reduce heat enough while I'm out at work. Find out tomorrow hope I don't cook them!
DON'T run your MH lamp at anything but full power, they will age out very quickly. If you have to dim one, dim the HPS. Or just shut one down. If it gets hot in the middle of the day, just shut your HPS down for a few hours on the timer. Cycling MH lamps excessively also wears them out prematurely.

Cheers I will probably try and keep them both running as much as possible, don't mind buying new bulbs often is they pay for their selves many many times over per grow.

But yeah I will prob shut one completely off if things get too hot.

Honestly, 315W CMH is a big step up from MH lamps, both in terms of efficiency and longevity. Spectrum is either equivalent or better. Instead of buying more MH lamps, I believe you'd be much better served by buying the CMH lamps.

I'll go a step further and suggest a couple of 315W CMH or even a 630W DE CMH to replace both of the lamps you're running now. Less heat and better spectrum along with higher efficiency.

Been looking at these but they are expensive for the setup? Can these be started and run on a magnetic ballast?

The whole efficiency advantage of CMH lamps come from the LFSW, or low frequency square wave ballasts. Buy the system.

looks like i will be saving some money up then but if im gonna do that i may as well spend it on cobs hadn't I?

I like the idea of using led for veg and CMH for flower or maybe just go led but for now i will just have to deal with the temps as not got that kind of money about me?
what temps would you say are damaging or stressful for the plants?

Been home on my dinner today and with the windows open its at 79F which is fine in my books but what temp would you shut a light down at?

Under what lighting?
79 is near the upper limit for HPS, MH or CMH.

LED can go into the low 80s because of less emitted infrared.

Sorry I totally wrote that wrong, I'm running both lights and was just wanted to know how high air temps can be before I start hurting my girls.

Never had 2 600w lights running so never had to deal with all this heat and the heat kinda scares me as I'm out for 8 hours a day.

Would you say 85f air temps are too to high?

What can purple haze take more to the point? I'd rather not hurt them with temps.

Must admit they are fooking loving it in there though. Bud are exploding everywhere

Pic is shit with all that light but will put another up at the weekend with just the my on for clarity

Looks good! How long you been blooming for?

Switched 12/12 on the 6th with first signs of flower 8 days later so about 16 days in now, have you done purple haze yourself? How long do you flower for? 50 to 60days?

I've manage to keep the temps of the 600w mh and 600w hps for now. Increased indirect air movement and increased the air moving through the house.
Wife's not impressed as upstairs is fooking freezing hahaha at least the girls are happy.

Send the warm air back upstairs.

Count your days from flip.

Every strain is different, as are growing conditions but in general more light and warmer growing conditions mean shorter finish times.

Are your lamps running bare or in sealed hoods? Sealed hoods would be great for heating your house; draw sir from outside the tent near the ground through the hoods, then vent into living area.

Alright pal cheers for the reply, I thought flowering was counted from first signs of flower?
If from flip then I may be able to take a week of my estimate?

I will you using an eye glass to monitor trich colour near the end, do you do 40% Amber? I feel I get a nicer plant if I chop at about 20% Amber? Personal preference I suppose.
