first time growing, i need help

Okay lets see here. i am starting to grow but i need help.. its been 1-2 weeks now and theres alot sprouting now, theres 2 that are already at 3-4 inches.. i am growing by a river, and i've been using river water, to water it.. i didnt even use special soil either, theres big dirt piles near by that i used dirt from, its good soil but theres no nutes i assume, but my plants are growing good? i havent used any fertalizer either.. i dont know what to do now that there growing... i actaully didnt think they would even grow either, i didnt even put the seeds in water over night, i just put the seeds in the soil... its weird too because it doesnt get alot of sun..

can i use river water?

do i even need any fertilizer or nutes?

what kind of fertalizer can i get thats cheap?

how do i use it?

I would get some all purpose liquid ferts at wal mart. mix a 25% strength at first, then follow directions and go from there. don't overdue it especially if they don't get much sun.
