First time with autos, second grow ever

Well, plant one could be genetics, however, I think your plants are locked out, and are only taking in the very minimal for growth. Signs of calcium defeincy on the second plant, curled leaves with no visible burn can be either heat stress or low humidity, but also, your plant could be locked out resulting in the inability to regulate hyperthermal insulation. I've put bag seeds in pots with no food and only rain to drink, both weeks of drought, and high heat, and they still came out twice the size of those plants you have, no offense. I feel like something is up. And am pretty certain you have hard water problems.. the silent destroyer

Thanks man, no offense at all, I've got two huge bag seeds growing that are at least three times as big as these and showing no deficiencies at all. I can believe the hard water.... we've got well water and I've wondered about hard water before.... I'll go to plain ph'd water for the rest of their flower and see if I can right them, if not it's a learning experience

Josh honestly, you should download the grow bible, it has most of the info you will need for a sucessful grow whether it be autos or photos.

when I started I saw all the misinformation on forums,, decided to read a grow bible, ceervantes(long haired weird guy, decent info)
I learned, built a room off the pages of high times, set it and forget it, no issue since 2008. no mites, no deaths, no clone probs, no surprises, no blown fuses, no disappointments and no more silly notions

Food for for thought chemphlegm I will keep that in mind, but for now it's still new to me really and i spend ALOT OF TIME with my kids and my friend with benefits kids. She and I have a pretty good deal at least she makes out. I'll take her two for a night here and there so she can go out and do whatever, then she returns the favor. Instead of paying each other for a mutual beneficial favor we just fuck from time to time with no expectations been that way for 5 years. Never fight but I never go out im a hermit of sorts. So my room is almost therapeutic for me I guess. I get to challenge myself with something new that I was certain I could never be successful at growing the kind of bud people will still pay a decent price for, instead of bag seed weed grown with dyi equipment and a faith it will grow produce dry and cure with little effort and be just as good as the proven strain of high quality smoke.
I truly enjoy just standing in there sometime after the kids go to bed for hours and tell the girls my day as I do what ever if anything needs to be done.
But I also would like to some day be able to set up a room completely self sufficient from the time they are sown to finish flower and just know it's all doing what it should. Everything from humidity control to air quality through automatic exaust and intake to watering with and without nutes. But not for a minute im truly engrossed in this and seem to be going to be for the see able future.

I have found in my 10 years, that autos do best with minimal help. A good, strong medium will be enough to get your girls to flower.. then depending on size, you adjust your flower nutrirent regime. If you get a stretchy genetic, it may need a little N boost, but generally speaking, autos don't get quite as big, as fast, so their roots haven't had time to find all the space in the pot before its time to switch feeds, therefore you're left with an over-abundance of nutrients, which can lead to a barrage of problems.
That may just be the best I have read, it sounds a lot like my op. I was thinking rapid start (?) I believe is the name it gets roots going like I have never seen! I use to grow hydro, now
I want to try autos in coco and hand watering finishing up outside. Thanks for the tips!

No problem fella. Coco is the bees knees... I'm telling ya, autos are a delicate breed. People say they are easy to grow, and are, for the most part, correct. However, if you go adding additional nutes to an, all ready pungent, medium... You will have stunted plants.. hence why people say they don't get " big." Only in the veg state though.. I've found once pre flowering has been initiated, most strains, especially Kush genetics, tend to absorb P, like a famished drifter... Then when late flower is upon you, the K is the same.

It never got the chance lol, I got impatient and smoked part of her ass last night, caught a good high from it so I know the trichomes were doing good at least. What do you think could be causing the cupping of the leaves in the last pic? Maybe heat or light stress or is it a nute problem?
The plant that looks like it has balls on it is a trait from Dr. Grinspoon. I had about 15 autos years ago from Nirvana and that trait showed its self on one of the plants. It was great smoke and I wish it would show up again..It's an unusual sativa.

Oh cool, I never heard of it. Well how are they lookin? Mine are looking ok but they can be sensitive little bitches! I let them dry out last week cause I thought I may have over watered them due to the sagging. So after i did water them they didn't just pop up within the hour or two, they took a couple days to snap out of it. Though I did give them nutes for the first time when I watered. Not food for the plant though, I gave them some orca root stuff made by the same people that make great white products. But they have looked great after that.
I sure would like to check out some pics of what you got going I'll try to post a couple later also.

That's awesome, I had no idea either. I thought I'd done something wrong, you're definitely right about great smoking! I've been smoking on just the balled WW and it's been some of the best I've had!

I've got one last WW seed so maybe I'll get lucky again with those genetics. I'll be sure to update when I do germinate it....

No doubt about them being sensitive little shits, they're finishing up and probably going to all get the chop in the next week. My fan leaves are all yellowing but the buds are still swelling so I'm lettting them go a little longer to see how much more I can fatten them up. I've dropped the nutes completely and am just using ph'd water now.

My two bag photo's are in full flower now, they've been vegging since just before Christmas so they're all 4ft tall or so now. Hoping I can get a good harvest from them to keep me smoking for awhile. I'm gonna pull them all out tomorrow and check them out so I'll get some pics up then without the Hps messing them up. Looking forward to seeing what you've got going on too!
