First-timer, Small-area grower

First of all i would like to introduce myself, Memfis, as a new member to this forum. I have dabbled in different research on growing throughout the years but have finally gotten serious about it. Hydroponics seems the best and least complicated way for me from what i have read. I will not have much space to devote to it as well, probably a maximum of 4 by 4 feet. Could anyone suggest a way to start my growing? Is there a specific kit that would be perfect for my needs? I have gathered that i will be able to grow about 12 plants in this area, with a 400 watt sodium lamp with a metal bulb during vegetative state, and a sodium bulb during the flowering. Is there any hints/tips, links, and/or instructions that you would be able to give me?

Thanks,
Memfis

yea man, 12 plants under one light isnt going to work too well. that would be one crammed sea of green.
you could go for 6 under 1 light. even still thats alot for one light. they will all have to be single cola plants.
Low stress training would take up waay to much space, if your trying to grow a good ammount of personal plants.
and i dont know what your talking about....hydro being the least complicated!! soil growing is way eaiser..... plant a seed, give it water, watch it grow.
or get a clone, and just watch it grow

Sorry, I am very new at the growing aspect of this field. I just couldnt see myself maintaining the soil and everything. Hydroponics seemed more automatic and less of a hassle to me. What do yall think i should do tho?

if your new i would use soil. just get a pH test kit. use things like dolomite lime to raise your pH. you can buy somethign called pH up from acehardware.com . add somethign acidic like peat moss to lower the pH. or a pH up solution from a garden store. u can get a ballast that supports MH and hps lamps. get good ventilation. if you are growing with very short height, then go with some indica probobly. DOWNLOAD THE CANABIS GROW BIBLE. it will really help.germ in a warm, dark spot w/ seeds in a moist paper towel. have fun and happy growing.

I agree. I am a first time grower. I chose soil. From what I have read that was definitely the right choice to start out.
My next project will be hydro but, I wanted get good mothers first for clones.
