True story:
We just got to the fishing spot and this dude was walking down the road and stopped on the bridge to take a look. Well he sees a king and is going to get it. Dude picks up a cinder block and chunks it at the fish.. lmao!! Needless to say, the fish saw it coming..

I'm like, sick and shit over it. Thursday can't come soon enough.

I gotta get shitloads done though before the salmon show up. Because after that, fuck everything else. Seriously though. It's all i do for most of the summer usually. That and garden. Or, garden and then fish.

This year is gonna be a little different though. I'm building a 1000sqft shop/garage in my backyard. Permits are pulled already. Oh joy huh? Not sure how I'm gonna fish everyday and build a building. And do some more landscaping. Oh shit I'm fucked!

We were trolling spoons with downriggers (around 120' of water) - two on the bottom (snagging the oppotunistic Halibut) and two up near 40 - this fish hit one of the high rods & was so crazy we had to chase him as he was spooling me (and I had a shit load of spider wire on the reel).

50lb power pro guy here for most of the chinook fishing I do. Might try that new P-line braid this season that they got out now.
But I was wondering how you guys also fish for them up on the rivers from the bank, and if you do, do You guys use super long leaders with a bead or two, or short leaders with say a corky?

The fish we're after are "feeders" and do not have a river they run up near us.
They're always around here - just depends on weather if you can get out after them.

And if you don't pay attention to the weather, dying is easy around here too.

Thanks, I've driven by there once, really pretty. I never could get into trout fishing coming from the Midwest but still looks fun.

Thanks for the heads-up, that's a species I'm unfamiliar with.

This is from a couple of years ago- the big one is 27# and the smaller one is 15#
