Flowering -- FAN QUESTION?!?

Um hey,

i'm using a shit-ton of cfl's and my temps are above 90F when the lights are on and closet doors closed. Would it be cool to use a big-ass box fan on the highest setting? It blows pretty hard...yea.

Plant has been flowering for 3-4 weeks

that's the very top of it shitty pic and yea it's a little small...it's had a very difficult life...i have a thread about it. it was outside basically after i started flowering so the buds will get bigger and are getting there every day.

can i use a BOX FAN on the HIGHest setting right next to the plant or is that somehow damaging?

not exactly sure if i'm correct but, if the room you are growing in is 90F then the fan would just blow all the hot air in the room on the plant. i think to lower the temps an exhaust fan would do the job

^novice opinion

Getting a little sloppy with them nutes eh? Looks like one got the splasher. Or a light laying on it.

hello

madcow, does it look that shitty for having been flowered for two weeks, taken outside in 90 degree weather for 2 weeks maybe more or less, and then transplanted an hour north again into a closet? it is about 2 ft tall and has been topped. it has about 10 bud-sites, i guess but they are obviously underdeveloped.

i'm thinking it started vegging a little again b/c it did grow a little, not much obviously. it was outside in a spot with at least 15 hours of sun exposure. i just wanted to grow a little and this is my first grow. but give this plant 5 more weeks then harvest and i'm looking at a half egg dried maybe.

i was mainly worried about the fan, but i do like to get perspective on other symptoms. thanks m c.

that's not nutes. that's what the plant looked like when i rescued it from rural south carolina. she's gonna live and has gone from flowering to veg and now back to flowering. that bud is cut. she was burnt/eaten when in the sticks. right now it's in organic soil w/ a little perlite and i'm water nut-ing with foxfarm, but it's only been 3 feedings. do u think it could be my pot size (2 gal)?

no i didn't take any clones. this is like a last gas effort to salvage a grow op that had a shit load of difficulties.

u know the box fan though, if the fan is going, won't it lower the temperature of the surface of the plant? i mean that'll be good for something right? i jsut want to know if the high intensity of the box fan wind will damage the plant in anyone's opinion. what ya think???

do you already have a smaller fan on it? i would really reccomend one that oscillates though...so it's not blowing on the plant ALL the time

ok i got u. i haev another one below the plant that blows upward. does that help anything? there is, however, constant air moving across/through the plant. so that isn't good. the plant needs rest i'm guessing...correct??

i have a humidifier that has worked well before to lower temperatures. in the mean time im' using the frozen milk jug of water method to lower temps and yeast and sugar in water for CO2. holler doller.

i haev spots and shit all over my plants and was too dumb to realize i've been trickling straight up TIGERBLOOM on my leaves sometimes.

i'm a dickhead and will be spending the rest of the night slamming my face against the wall.

Lynch, This is my opinion on what is happeming and would happen.

1. I think your plants are being over nuted.
2. If your room is 90f and you put a fan in there blowing air, it will be blowing 90f hot air on the plant. Not good. Figure out some way to vent some of this air out of this room. Get creative. Maybe even remove the door from its frame, and replace it with an old door you do not care if you cut holes in, and then place a fan at the bottom blowing air in, and one at the top blowing air out. Take the cords up so you do not trip on them or catch them on the door. Or cut holes in the walls, cieling, floor.. But try and get some of that hot air out of there, and fresh air in. Your plant needs Fresh air in the room. I have read that your grow room should recirulate the air in the room with fresh ever 5 minutes. My room does it in about 3 minutes. You will be amazed at how fast a small fan can do this.

Good luck on your rescue attempt. :peace:

right. i've decided to cut my measurements in half for the nutes just to be on the safe side. i just had a moment of self-hatred there when i read SmokerE's suggestion about the spill. i hadn't even considered it.

the fan thing will resolve itself in about an hour when i can get in the grow room. what if i just opened the door when the lights were on? they are two sliding closet doors and if i open each one up a bit with the fan in the middle of the closet, a nice draft is created i think. that sound feasible?

I am sure that will work. But what happens when you space it off and forget? You will screw up you flowering stage. I just did that on my grow i have going now. I forgot to turn off a light in a closet next to my plants, and they got light while they should not have, now my flower stage is mess'd up. But I am hoping that it is ok now. I turned off all the lights for 24 hours straight.

I left that closet light on for at least two days. it was not a bright light, but enough to screw things up I think. I have now placed tape over this switch so that it is always off.

chabnock,

i have a light timer on the lighting system i've made. when the lights turn off, the bedroom lights are off anyway and i have my windows covered w/ black curtains and bags over the blinds.

i'm getting good flow out of the door on the left side. i just smoked and the intake is doing fine too.

i found some flies around the plant and i think i can blame some of the leaf abuse on them but most of the problem seems to be the heat and nutes.

how far along are u into flowering?
