Flowering nutes for 32 gallon DRIP system? Powder? Something that isn't a fortune

My new Sensei does 32 gallon reservoir with a drip system in coco. Lots of watering and runoff that is tossed. I need a flowering nute that will not make me go broke. The liquids may be out. I am thinking about 4 lb or more Earth Juice. Or maybe a Fox Farm powder? General Hydro has powders too but they are pretty expensive. Dr. Earth is good but Nitrogen is not water soluble.

Stock solutions are easy to make.

Full control of feed, everything plant needs, and cheap as chips.

Only organic soil could be simpler.

Definitely get the first one. And then find some Calcium Nitrate to add to it(also from customhydro. Follow the instructions on the bag, it will tell you how to use Calcium Nitrate.

5-11-26 with calcium nitrate is a good base in coco. I buy this from customhydro - great products, packaging and customer service.

Also needs a Mg bump as it carries half the Mg than the Jacks version of 5-11-26 (6%). Mag sulfate takes care of that.

Jacks 20-20-20 is also popular, as is the Citrus and Aquagold. I've not used any of these.

Customhydro also has good biostimulants like fulvics, humics and kelp in dry form also. If you're shopping you might want to consider stocking up, depending on what you like to run!

880g 5-11-26 in a gallon of water gives you a stock solution at 10ml per gallon application rate. 580g/gal of calcium nitrate gives you exactly the same.

I also have calculations for stocks of all these, if you want them:

I need to make it simple because my apprentice only likes using stuff in a bottle. :?

The dry salts measure by weight in grams, liquid volume in ml.

I'm saying if you weigh out those amounts of dry salts given above into a gallon of water you then have a concentrated solution of both nutrients. Then 10ml of each concentrate is your application rate per gallon of res.

eg. I drip dtw from 20gal reservoirs in flower, so I need 200ml of 5-11-26 + 200ml cal-nit of my concentrate for every new res.

These solutions give you approx 330ppm of 5-11-26 and 270ppm of cal-nit.

Depending on the size of your op, mixing up a gallon of 5-11-26 should last a good while. I get through about 3 quarts per week over 150'ish gallons of total reservoir capacity. I avoid mixing up more than I can use in a week as it can turn slimy on you over time.

Some people may toss salt solids straight into res but i'd be worried about solubility. Even in stock the 5-11-26 can take a few days to totally break down. A good shake of the jug each time is recommended.

what is your rate for Epsom salt
stock solution and ml gal?

Don't know if we can presume all epsoms are the same in terms of ppms which is why I mention the type I buy.

Oh and this rate is good cos I know each 1ml will give another 10ppm Mg, as needed. I like simple math.

I always weigh out grams per gal and store in plastic salsa cups with the lids
I wanted to try stock solutions which to me seem more practical once all mixed just like doser systems

just never wanted to figure out the math

I hear you bro, and yeah it was a total headache to do, but hey its done now and happy to share / pay it forward.

Yes, you can.
I'm not sure its as straightforward as other compounds since you'll find epsoms with pharma grade or greenhouse grade etc. Pharma (USP) is a purer salt so inevitably ppms may be higher.

Even lower grades might even have heavy metal impurities.

Get at me if you like any of those other bottles in the pic. I got the numbers :bigjoint:

It's hardly going to make a difference. Ag grade is usually 99%ish purity while pharma grade is 99.9%, lab grade being 99.99% or higher. The rest is water as it is.
