Flowering time miscalculation and possible early harvest

Going to try this out. I swear it gave me a slight sunburn while fucking with it. Sun Blaze 22 with PowerVeg FS+UV x2, also ordered the 420 bulbs for the blue reef tank factor.

I appreciate all this excellent knowledge and experience. There is SO much to learn, and it's quite enjoyable. I just ordered a LED microscope so I can start watching my trichomes. Here's a pic of my three girls from yesterday for your viewing pleasure. They are certainly far from perfect, but I am proud of them.

I have to disagree on the similar potency part there Bob......The longer they run the better! I feel that most of the middle of the road shwag is due to early harvest! I DO agree mostly with your 10 week statement! I've found over the years that simply running HPS all grow. Will make the plant have a long drawn out finish and have less ambering. Deep blues and UV make for not only a far more potent result but, a better more positive finish in a shorter time.....Those that finish properly - time wise, and use more blue's for the last few weeks. have a more intense buzz and a longer lasting buzz.....Harvesting clear is simply wasting all the time and money you invested in the plant.....Cloudy is by FAR better but, still not really "done".

Anyone who harvest's early because they like the buzz that way. Is doing what they prefer, and that makes it right for them. I respect that!

Anyway. that's just my 2 cents... Longer run to a complete finish. proper dry and cure....Knocks the pants off any early pick!!!

I also think that ones tolerance, amount of experience with smoking, plays a huge role. To someone who has smoked a wide variety of dank bud, for a long period of time, will be able to notice subtle differences in the aspects of the high.

31 Jan 2017 -- they have grown a lot over the last 12 days. Today is F50 (Day 76 from seed). Pandora is an autoflower, but Milkyway and CBD Mango Haze are photoperiod. Accidentally broke a small branch of CBD Mango Haze today while moving them in and out of the tent to take pics. Won't try that again. The two photo plants are very top heavy and could use some staking. Broken branch will get dried and cured early so we'll see what would have been if I had harvested early.

For several reasons, I decided to go ahead and harvest the tops of Milkyway and CBD Mango Haze yesterday at F52 (the two photoperiod ones, not the auto). They were very top heavy and I am going to be traveling so I wanted as low maintenance care as possible for my husband while I'm away. Also, trichomes had lots of cloudy and some turning amber. Will leave the bottom halves of these two plus the whole Pandora (she's short and stout) to mature over the next 2 weeks.

So for my first (partial) harvest, I am so excited! Got lots of bud that's now hanging to dry. Used the trimmings from Milkyway to make tea last night. Let's just say, this stuff is incredibly potent. Granted, I have been dry for a LONG time, but whoa! Husband calls it a "tidal wave" effect. You could feel it coming on gradually, then bam! I was overwhelmed for at least an hour. Then I was functional enough to walk my dogs before bed. At first I was a bit paranoid and anxious, but an hour later I felt super happy, beautiful, and amazing like Super Woman. I would call it a succes. Definitely will only drink a half cup of tea next time. :)

I realize these could have gone on for another few weeks, but I am quite happy with these results. And for my knowledge, I can compare then with the results of the more mature harvest we chop in two weeks.

Proud pics below. Enjoy.
