You will never grow that top quality bud if you choose to flower with fluorescents. If your cool with smokin 'hay' then cfl's are for you.

Fucking rubbish.

Stop perpetuating this bullshit that you cannot grow decent bud under fluoro's.

Plenty have, plenty are and plenty continue to do so.

god i hope you are talking about CFLs and not tube flouros....b.c if you think you get decent yeild under tubes your are high....

and like stated above, atleast flower with HID. you will thank yourself

I'm talking about fluoro's generally whether they be T5's or CFL's. The yield will be less than you'll get under HPS, but the quality will be as good if not better.

The quality and quantity of homegrown bud largely depends on the skill of the grower, no wonder so many people choose the easy route of HPS is it?

The quality of bud grown under fluor's by someone who knows what they're doing will always far exceed anything grown under HPS by someone who doesn't.

Strictly nurturelite fluorescent only example: 10 x 200w (2000w) nurturelite PURple red lamps produced same yield as crop did with 3 x 600w (1800w) HPS, but the grower reported that although quantity/yield was fractionally down, the QUALITY was up massively, because there is so little heat, all of the "qualitative" characteristics of the plant tops are not "evaporated" by IR heat. this is especially relevant during the flowering stage when plant surfaces in the flower region are particularly photoponically sensitive and vulnerable to humidity and over-heating problems.

Source: PURple for the highest quality

Ok well I though you were talking about regular tube floruos, which would equal shit yeild....cfl and T-5s are a whole new topic.

i dont consider HID being the easy route out either....HID is the route you go if you want the best results. Now dont come at me with "you dont think you can get good results with CFLs" as I never said that. The fact is HID will kick CFLs as all day long...any agrument over that statment would be just ignorance. With that said I find it to be damn impressive with some of the yeild some guys get of CFLs.

Well yeah, you need to get the correct type fluoro's and I think this is where a lot of people go wrong and one of the reasons why fluoro's and cfls have got a bad reputation.

HID's in my opinion are the easy route for several reasons. Firstly, because everyone recommends them and everyone else seems to use them, therefore, if pretty much everyone uses them - they must be right, right? Secondly, because getting good results using fluoro's requires somewhat more skill and understanding than getting good results with HIDs, and an awful lot of people simply are not willing to learn the skill and knowledge it requires to get the best from them. That's fair enough, I really don't have a problem with that at all, its whatever works for an individuals situation, but that does not support the view that HIDS will always out perform fluorescent based situations because so much of the skill is in the grower.

And I don't agree with the statement that 'HID's will kick CFL ass all day long' because it's based entirely on dogma because as I've said - perfectly acceptable results can be achieved with the right fluoro systems used in the right situations.

I'm also willing to bet that not one single person that continually recommends HID systems has ever done a grow with the appropriate fluoro system and actually compared the results with a HPS based grow. Have you?

I can bet you anything your cfls will not produce buds the size of your forarms....weighing in at 30g. And that was not even the biggest. I had PH problems....still cant touch it with CFLs. And yes I have done my own expeiments. I took one outta of the flowering room and started flowering it under 8 42w cfls. i took it out in 2 weeks as the difference was a fuckin joke. But if you mean proper: like 105 cfls in a 2X2 space or someshit, no. thats just fuckin dumb. Man i could not disagree with you anymore with this. cfls are damn impressive but it will never produce like a properly used HID.

If one chooses to grow in a smaller garden then why would he/she waste the money for such elaborate equipment when CFL's are inexpensive and in a smaller setting work wonders.
