Fox Farms Strawberry Fields...

Has anyone used this stuff, or looked at it? Just curious as to what people have thought. I'm using it now, and it seems to be ok. I'm using a clear green solo cup, so i can see the root development, and it looks good, not nearly as big as the plant would be for the amount of roots..

i just picked up two bags because they were 50% off. i will use them outside in 7 gallon smart pots for a pollen chucking experiment this year.

We have been running it for a few weeks in the grow I work at and at first it was going really well but now our plants are burning to shit. Currently have plants in happy frog and some in s.f. and the s.f. plants are quite sickly, where as the happy frog plants are not. Its not entirely conclusive as we are dialing back other nutrients and seeing if that stops the problem, but overall switching back to happy frog.

That’s what was happening with me. Didn’t seem too cannabis friendly.

OK i have been having some issues with S.F. after germinating 3 seeds so far i have noticed significant leaf burn. So after reading this post i did a little experiment to see what the PPM is of the run off of SF . after pouring 1 gallon of R/o with 26 ppm at 6.5 ph through fresh soil in a 2 liter pot i was having PPM readings of 800+ can anyone else do this test to correct me if i am wrong cause i am dumb founded on how high this PPM is in fresh soil no nutes in water.

I would if I had it. But I threw half the bag out because of that, and never bought it again .

I hearing a lot of good reviews on this soil per veg phase i think its just way to hot for seedlings im not gonna give up on it just yet ill start my seeds in seed starter and try again when the girls are a few weeks old. Still Looking for any confirmation on PPM test though.

Thank you. On this grow yes it was all strawberry fields from seed to finish. I used full strength nutes from HG 3 part plus calmag+, florabloom, and flora nectar, and the one that has silica in it. I would use nutes for 2 feeds then flush. I followed the feed chart on the label. My lights were 3 viparspectra lights @18-28 inches away. Plus a 600 watt hid digi ballast. The strain was feminized mangolicious seeds from Amsterdam seed bank.

Did you use any nutes at all in seedling stage or just what the fresh soil gave you. Im :wall: trying to figure out why these girls keep burning up.

No nutes in the seedling for these girls. My last grow that was stolen was. These plants were amazing, I was looking at a 1/2 or more from 2 plants. :(

In my grows I use clonex or rapid start and a touch of grow from GH on 1/4 strength when growing in hydro, half strength in dirt.

I am not using any Nutes with these seedling figured i wouldnt with fresh soil until atleast 2 weeks in but they are not making 2 weeks before they fry. Im growing in a 3x4x6 closet i have 4" intake at bottom 4" exhaust up top and a 5000 BTU A/C with 1 oscilating fan there is plenty of circulation i assume my room stays anywhere from 75/79F' i can control the temp pretty easily with a Temp control system. Question: You think me throwing them under 300w LED off pop is frying them too much infared maybe ? Will be using the Go Box this grow.

I know this post is a few months old but wanted to add my two cents. I have used SF for about 6 months now. I feel that my plants in flower did pretty good compared to the ferti-lome Ultimate Potting Mix I was using before. BUT, when I used it for my little plants in VEG it burnt the shit out of them. Trying to get them back to looking pretty before I move to flower. Not sure if I will use this soil anymore. I'm gonna do a half and half with the Ferti-lome for flower this time and see if all goes well. I know I won't be using this in VEG anymore though.
**just as an edit. I was also using (sparingly) my FoxFarms BigBloom and GrowBig nutes. Maybe since the soil already had so much in it, I overplayed my hand. Just been giving the girls straight water for the last couple of weeks.

Using it with 3 month old seed plants in 10-15 gal pots
Runoff at transplant was unbelievably hot, 1900-2200ppm!
Plants seemed to love it for the first 2 weeks. Now some of them are clawing and others are happy
2 identical strain girls, one topped once in a 15 gal, the other topped a second time in a 10 gal show completely different runoff values.
The 15 gal is reading 1300ppm and clawing, the 10 gal read 235 and losing bottom leaves
Best flush this soil pretty good after 2 weeks like TwistedVines suggests!
Sativas and a Kosher Kush x GDP are not happy with the hot mix and my setup makes flushing very labor intensive (saucers)
Seems the more I flush (gallon at a time) the higher the ppm readings get!
Mixed GH week 2 flower nutes (full line) down to 664ppm and added it to the hungry one, we'll see how that goes
As for the others, looks like it's gonna be a long night!
These are not tiny girls! My Jack Herer x Full Moon Thai
Has 3 1/2' branches and they are all 5-7 feet tall
Will try 1/2 & 1/2 with inert Jiffy seedling mix next time
I'll keep y'all posted

Damn a lot of bad luck. I would say maybe better as a top dressing in flower or mix it so not so hot. I'm using ocean forest and lasts until flower then feed it your own nutes. Much easier for me. Flushing sucks. (Also saucers)
