Fox Farms Trio and CalMag

I am about to give my plants their first dose of nutes. They are in FFOF 5g pots and I started the seeds on 1-1-17. As of now I have only been watering with regular tap water. How should I mix my nutes? I have CalMag too. Also yesterday I got a ph tester but have never used one and am unsure how it works.

At a bit less than 1/4 strength and increase a little as the plant gets bigger.

You need a TDS tester more than a ph tester. The FFOF ph should be in a usable range and it will buffer your nute solution into range. Test your tap water for TDS levels and reference your municipal water tests to see what is in it. Most cal/mag in municipal water is in a large molecule form that will be difficult for your plant to take up, so adding cal mag at about 100ppm is a good idea. Keep track of your total TDS or EC levels and gauge how the plant reacts. If leaf tips start to claw downward, our TDS levels are too high.
