Foxgloves and oleander, dangerous to kids?

Are foxgloves and oleander really bad plants to have planted in a small backyard if the person has young children? like a 6yr old and a new born.

I read they are poisonous, but so are tons of other plants, but if the kids smell the flowers it could go bad right?

as long as they dont eat the plants or play with them then you shouldnt have any problem

mentioned it around some gardeners and I got some strong recommendo's to no poisonous plants in a 30x40 back yard with kids play equipment in it.
