This harvest provided a ten year reserve of tincture that is fantastic and has an eternal shelf life! Three droppers of it is killer. Made easily in 8 hours with a Magic Butter Machine 2. Two ounces of product made 14 ounces of tincture.

Hey. so I actually considered making tincture for my vape pen but flavoring it with an assortment of flavors. Does tincture actually get the job done? What is the best way to make tincture based on your experience? Do you find that tincture is actually worth converting from actual buds? I'm definitely curious! Blow my mind! Great work so far by the way!!

To be clear I use way more herb than I used to do to an accident 8 years ago of which I'm do much better now. The TBI made it where I couldn't feel herb no matter how strong for the 1st. 3 years of recovery. What I'm getting at is I need strong meds when dealing with THC. CBD's are a different story where I only need regular doses to reduce anxiety.

This method of delivery is superior to everything I've done before. No shelf life and unrefrigerated is an awesome way to go and delivery is as easy as (for me) 100 drops in a glass of chocolate milk to get red eye ripped for 10 hours.

Is it worth it?

2 ounces of herb and 1 bottle of Everclear making at least 12 ounces of very strong tincture = well worth the money and effort. Also - the Magic Butter 2 is under $200 bucks...

That sounds awesome! I've wanted to try some tinctures. I've also heard of making it with vegetable grade glycerine i believe!! Have you ever tried that?? Just wondering...Everclear would prob be easier for most people to try!!
How exactly do YOU make yours?? I'd like to know more.

I purchased an MBM and my wife was not happy with the butter it made. She switched back to the slow cooker which has been tried and proven for us. My real purpose of buying the machine was so she could make tinctures with minimal effort, due to her physical disabilities. From what I can find using 2 ounces is probably double the recommendation so I will start with an ounce. We can always take more drops if needed.

Hey Z, You said you didn't like the butter the MBM made...Can I ask why?? I'm just wandering. I'm more interested in the tincture. Did the tincture turn out good for your wife!? I'm really interested because my wife has insomnia and I'm trying to find something to help her. Shes not a smoker and doeaent like to be "HIGH" This is part of the reason I'm getting back into gardening.

when you say three droppers, do you mean the whole dropper full or just 3 drops? Three droppers has to be a killer dose with 2 oz to a pint.

"Dropper" equals a full glass vile portion of the eye dropper cap. Approximate 10-15 drops. 1/2-3/4 of 1ml.

I think it turned out differently than she expected, but we did make it with ghee that time. We have not tried the tincture yet since I still have not managed to get out and buy some Everclear.

Well, that might explain it I guess. I was using drops and waiting for a buzz......... Thought I messed up the decarb. lol. I'll try again when I don't need to be human for a while. ;)

Do you guys put it under your tongue or just swallow it?

Sub-lingual (under your tongue) gives different results to swallowing it, the gut enzymes break the chemistry down so sub-lingual is the preferred route. So any un-reduced tincture that needs a tablespoon full is going to be impossible to keep under the front of your tongue (where all the blood vessels are). See my comment on arthritis post about how to make coconut butter extracts, my 3 x strength will knock you on your ass if you took a quarter teaspoon in a single dose!! Plus any solvent will alter the chemistry of the extract so all these BHO/ethanol solvent extractions are NOT fit for human consumption (unless you are wanting cancers, liver and kidney failure, auto immune diseases etc) even with vacuum purging it is all but impossible to remove all the solvents so if you ain't wanting to smoke or dab it, why not use a solvent that is both 'soft' chemically and an edible foodstuff. Coconut butter/oil hemp seed oil, olive oil and dairy butter are all excellent safe solvents for cannabinoid resins.
