Freezer Grow

alright so new at growing, i have a old freezer and i have hered there good for growing in. it is just like the one below but it's old and doesn't work. it is 51 inches tall, 27 inches wide, and 20 inches deep. i got 3 fluorescent light fixtures that are 48 inches and hold 2 fluoros each, and i have a couple of CFL lights and can always get more. so now i got a couple of questions.

1. if i put 2 fluoros on each side and one in the back and have CFL's above the plants will this be enough light??

2. if it is enough light how many CFL's should i put in there with the fluoros??

3. how many plants would be a good amount with this space??

4. i know i will need some ventilation wat would be the best size fan for this space??

5. wat is the best way to put a hole in this fridge for the fan/s??

Anything that you can help me with is very much appreciated.

Each fan has a rating that tells you how many cubic feet of air per minute (CFM) it will move. When dealing with above average temperatures you will want your fan to exchange the grow room air 3-5 times in one minute, so for a room that is 40 cubic feet, a fan that is capable of moving 120-200 cfm (cubic feet per minute) is recommended. If you only want to replace depleted levels of co2 and are growing in a closet using fluorescents, one room change per five minutes (divide room size by 5) will be adequate.

To calculate your room size, multiply Width by Length by Height, this will give you the CFM rating required for one room change per minute.

Air that’s exhausted will be replaced by fresh air, which is drawn from Passive Intakes-
located opposite the exhaust at the floor of your grow room (Recommended for closet grows) or forced in using another blower (recommended for larger grow rooms).

For internal circulation oscillating fans are In my opinion the most efficient devices for circulating air in a room. The gentle back and forth sway of the fan is very beneficial for the developing plants. These fans tend to keep anaerobic moulds down by constantly freshening any potentially stagnant air. Home improvement centres carry a large array of various types and styles of air-moving fans, there are wall-mounted styles available and most are relatively inexpensive.

NOTE: To convert CFM to CMH use the folowing formula CFM X 0.03 X 60 = CMH

Man, I am growing in about the same space. Please go online and find your self a hps light. Yes flors are ok but don't you want more bud?? Invest in a 400 hps or even better a 600 and do things right. I have grown with floros before and now I have a 400 in my closet. It is a BIG difference.

Yes you will need a ballast for your hps. You will find them online as a package. Just type in hps and you will see many prices. I got my light at National Garden Wholesale. I got a cool tube with the reflector. I have NO heat problems. You will also need to fan to attach to the light to exaust the heat fron the hps bulb. Also buy the Hortilux Bulb. It is the most expensive, but it has 30% more light in the green and blue that you need in veg, and all the red and arange you need in flower. I hope this helps bro. Also I hope you have some good seeds.

cool, im on a tight budget so i'll probably wait but can anyone tell me how much i can plan on getting from about 8 - 12 plants under 6 4 ft. fluoro lights and probably a couple CFL's?

well that all depends on how big you let them get and what type of light you flower with.

well this is what just the bulb looks like, it is a 500 watt Double Ended Halogen T-3 Light-- will this be good for flowering?
