Fresh Frozen Bud Wary?

I've recently begun placing semi-trimmed nugs from broken branches into a doubled, translucent, wastepaper bag and freezing the green buds w/ their gland encrusted leaves. The buds don't freeze solid, they stay more or less pliable. After working with dried frozen buds in the past, this is my first experience with harvesting trichs from "fresh frozen". There's ice trays and buckets of ice in the freezer that's set on (4) of a possible (9). I just cranked it up to (7) to see if I can get the buds to freeze... but then there's the niggling detail suggested by the internet that, "freezing green buds" allows icicle's to pierce the trichome glands?

Upping the freezer number from 4 to 7 crisp't it all up. Nice. Thanks for your support.
Imo, there shouldn't be any problems as long as the number is a couple digits down from Max. the buds should freeze-up and the trichs explode (which I think, with the protective gland-wall now ruptured) might happen. Best I still collect more of the drops-offs and breakage into the freezer bag and run a 100+ g to see if there's any results in my favorite 73 and 25 (possible full melt, bag results depending. :) ) bag bottoms when drained. Why not? All I can find on the net about ice, is a Jan 2016 article about bubble (ice) hash, and this topic. If so not so, then please link us up w/ fresh-frozen ice (bubble) hash topic. thnx

My 25u bags are getting clogged and taking hours to filter out the water. I cleaned them from the inside with acetone on a white cotton dinner napkin and the green showed up on the white cloth, but when I used them recently the 25u were still clogged. This suggestion seems like it will work more like a washing machine:
As a tip, when the 25 micron screen used for drying out the bubble gets way sticky, I clean it out with acetone kept in a mason jar. My 25 micron screen is about 24" in diameter. I simply fold it up, stick it in the jar about 1/2 full of acetone, soak and swish, then shake vigorously. Let it soak more, swish again, then again shake vigorously. When I take the screen out of the mason jar, I scrape any remaining hard pieces off with my fingers and shake the heck out of the screen. It dries in about 30 seconds. When completed, the screen is like new. - farmer

I'll start another topic called "Fresh-Chilled Bubble @ 39F/3.9C" to track the complete process, beginning the first week of October 2017. I've decided to chop the biggest buds from the ripest plant and dry them traditionally. Then I'll make a pass on the same plant for the smaller buds w/dull white trichs and collect the 400g of wet. I'll post pics of the yield. First run 10 min. and separately beside it on the same 25u drying-mesh, a second run 10 min.

Will be posted, as promised. Patience is a virtue we cannot live without. Growers learn (are force-fed) patience.

Of note, this is from Tim/Dani at the page-bottom blog.

"Since I want the best possible quality in the first run, I wash my buds with water before putting them in the washing machine. I let them chill again in the washing machine for 10 minutes (with water and ice cubes) then I run it for 3-5 minutes.
Second run is normally around 10 minutes, third run 15 minutes (most times I don’t even do a third run, it all depends on what you get on the second and the strain you’re processing).
I’ve seen people doing a very fast first run – just a few seconds – just to clean the buds, but I prefer soaking them in water and gently stirring them for a couple of minutes before putting them in the washing machine."
"And since I want top quality in the first run, I don’t even use bags below 73u; I use bags 220, 190, 160, 120, 90 and 73. I use the same water for the second run, and then I use bags, 220, 190, 160, 73, 45 and 25."
