I am gathering all the bits and pieces for the conversion to begin soon.
I gotta make a decision SOON as to when I need to start flushing and the CHOP !
Meanwhile I have work to do to the new res and the actual DWC tray.

Here is the setup in the DWC tray.
An airstone on each side of the net pots.
Of course, the pots will hang from the lid.

it appears you decided to not go with the set up in the video you posted where there was a floating raft of foam described, ?? so your res is still going to be below? is the pump going to be always on ? so the nutes will just flow full circle constantly? can you share how its going to work,, thanks,

Correct, I need the extra space under the lid for the roots.
Yes, the res, a Koolatron cooler will be down in the freezer section and push the fluid up into the top left of the tray.
There the line will connect to a hard plastic tube that will span the width inside the tray just in front of the pots.
I will drill 2-3 holes aiming them at the roots of each pot.
The drain will be located at the front of the tray and I will have an access door the get to the drain.
I will control the fluid level in the tray by the height of the drain tube.
Higher level till the roots start hanging down real good then drop the level a bit.
Also for water add backs or PH adjustments, I can insert a 4" - 6" piece of the appropriate size PVC pipe in the drain tube to extend it up where I can insert my funnel.
Add backs go straight into the res this way.

makes sense to me, I look forward to seeing the new hydro more set up, my lower res looks like your upper tub, , I could see stacking 2 of those tubs on top of each other for an over all height of about 12- 14 inches, very promising, if you get 4 oz out of that harvest I will do the happy dance with you,, maybe not, but a big shit eatin grin none the less

Got the feed rail installed in the flood tray that will spray out of the 2 holes right at the roots.
And installed 4- 2" SS tubings in the double rim of the tray.
Notched it for the lid, etc.
If I need to remove the tray for a cleaning, just pull off the 4 air lines and the feed line.
The airstones are heavy and should sit right where they're at.
Air inlets will be at the rear and come up through the hole in the rear area, and the drain will be right up front.

looks great, your new set up is using the same storage tub that I am using for a nut res, and watching you set up your DWR is giving me great ideas of making one simular, maybe you could let me know if when the airpump is on if there is the sound of popping or rising bubbles and if the sound is loud or not, Also why are you chosing to go with 3 plants instead of 4, do you think you will be able to fill the SCROG screen with 3 or will you veg longer and do more LST?

Well... this has NOT been the perfect grow.
Those following the thread know that I had a couple issues happen along the way.
Well, the roots are really disgusting.
The were root bound in the pots and got some black, root rot I assume.
Yes, just imagine what would have been with a better root system.

The new system will MORE than fill the canopy with even 2 plants.
I am just trying the 3rd seed, hoping it will be female.
We will see explosive root and plant growth with the RDWC !
Had these 4 been in DWC, I might have really had my hands full trying to keep up with the stretch.

Its Crazy amazing , just look at that, ( I am), its cool that you/we can critique ourselves and make changes , slight or big, to make improvements, you have given me so many idea and or reassurances that the direction I am heading is a good one, If I can match your yeild from my first run coming up I will be a very very happy camper. Congrats man, you rocked it really, kept them alive, and harvested a good looking batch. I have switched directions with my wardrobe cabinet so many times now, ( mostly because my wife allowed me to bring it into the house WHOOP) , but now I am even considering taking apart my eb flow bucket and buying another storage tub and doing a double stack, but I have a feeling I will just go with a single plant as planned for the first grow, My scrog is going to be about 18 inches above giving me more time to top and fim and spread it before it hits the scrog, at least thats the plan, I am going to start a new thread for the wardrobe probably around Jan 5th all the parts should be here and major assembly begins,
here is a picture of the wardrobe after exterior paint as a teaser,, again, Merry Christmas ,

Thanks man,
Here is a guy on YT that does a quick how to on a double stack.

I thought about it, but I need the height.
I read a shitload about scrog screens and fact is, a lot of people are doing it wrong by putting the screen too high.
It then just becomes a trellis, holding the top colas from falling over.
The one read that I did, the guy said after MANY variations he came across the perfect height from the pot lip to the screen.... 3.5 - 4 inches !!!
That is a bit low in my opinion, but he has YEARS of experience on me, you would really have to be on top of that or it could get away from ya..
I did mine at 6.5"
The idea is, as the plant starts protruding through the screen a bit, you gently pull it back down threw the screen and get that top heading away from the trunk.
the sooner the better for this as it exposes those little budsites that would be otherwise in the shade, to the powerful light in the center of the screen, giving them the best chance to become nice sized buds.
As each one of those pops up through, you do the same thing.
If you think you might break it by pulling it down threw, then just bend it over and tie it to the screen on the top side with garden tie wire, same thing.
