Hi. My name is Khemi, I am in my 20's and in our culture I am very wise and resourceful when dealing with things like growing and compound synthesis. I am sure out of the thousands that may frequent a board like this, a small handful have strayed into the chemical manufacture genre of our underground culture.

I should first state that I no longer manufacture chemical compounds. If this were a job interview and you were looking at my resume most of you would be impressed with my choice of compounds I set my sights on and spent months and thousands upon thousands of dollars on chemicals and state of the art equipment to reach my goals. While some of you will have no idea what I am talking about when I rattle off names of compounds such as: MDMA, MDA, GHB, 2CB, DMT, 5MEO Dipt, and yes, the one chemical compound that I was so close to getting too before I realized I needed mental help, LSD.

The funny thing about that is that I was so scared to make LSD because of the amount that I would be making. In theory, it's production can be made by someone with a 2yr college degree in organic chemistry. DMT is by far more difficult to synthesize than LSD via starting component indole. It required the use of chemicals by the likes of Lithium Aluminum Hydride, which was by far the most frightening chemical I have worked with to date, but also the most fun.

So why did I stop? Well, this answer is not easy for me to explain so I will have to stop this part of the story here. The point is, I have not, nor plan to, make any more drugs from this point on. I guess you can say I weighed the good and the bad. A kilogram of 99.7% pure MDMA would sell for 45k wholesale, and only took a week to make. After a few sales of this quantity I realized that there is no price on this precious place called earth that is worth spending 25 years of my young life behind bars.

So what is someone like myself to do with all this knowledge? Most people learn about things in school that apply them to real life situations. Everything I know, I learned from Al Gore's internet. When people ask me what the first drug I ever tried was, they are usually in disbelief when I tell them it was LSD, when I was 12 yrs old. Even before I enjoyed my favorite compound, THC, I had tried the most powerful.. (next to DMT of course)

So why am I here telling you all this? I don't know, but honesty is the best policy when getting a community of people whom of which I hope can teach me some things, to accept me for who I am. My skeletons are out of the closet in a fairly anonymous way. If you disagree with my prior choices I have made in life, then I accept that. If you think it is "cool" what I have done and accomplished, I will agree some of it was "cool" and I had a fun time doing it and it showed me something that many of you here may have experienced when you saw your first crop, or even your first tray of clones. You ACCOMPLISHED something. The high I got from making compounds that were incredibly difficult to make, and usually on a massive scale, is a high that compound/quantity itself could not beat. The feeling of accomplishment and achievement was by far better than any of the feelings the drugs themselves induced. I hope that explains a little bit about me.

So why come to Rollitup.org? Years ago when overgrow.com was around I was busy with the projects I have mentioned above. My favorite "drug" of all time has been cannabis. If you even call it a "drug". The first substance I grew however were mushrooms, which took over a year to achieve. Then I set my sights on pot. This wasn't hard for me to get started growing as everyone of my close friends grew. My friends generally started off with Eb & flow type set ups at first and then they progressed into Aero Flow setups. I wanted my own crop and soon I was rewarded with one. For the most part was a utter failure only returning 500g-600g dried of some of the best pot on earth (NL Hybrid) using 1000w HPS.

I gave up after that. I figured waiting 3 months for a lb of dank was not worth my time and chemistry was. The payoff from that was rediqulous in comparison.

So what do you do when you don't have the time to grow your own, but you need a nice half pound head stash every 2-3 months? You find someone who you trust and someone who knows their shit and you fund the operation. Sounds like a lazy mans move? I made sure I juiced this person for all the info he was willing to provide. We had C02 tanks, a C02 generator (propane), Co2 digital monitor, Areoflow system, proper ventilation using a 1000w hps/mh hybrid that was liquid cooled somehow. (mind you this was 5 years ago, what is cutting edge today may be very different, and that is what I would like to find out) My task was simple. Pay for it all and wait.

In the end, we cropped a good amount split 50/50 and then he bought me out after the 2nd crop and I was left with year long head stash. My only regrets? Not learning enough and not remembering enough.

So why am I here again? Lets just say I have an itch for the frosty treats and having done my one solo project that resulted in horrible yields per wattage used, and my second venture which I didn't really have time to learn much because of other more lucrative ventures I was engaged in at the time, I sit here. Asking for some advice from the best of the best. I have 5 years of technology to catch up on.

Here are my concerns & hopes.

I hope to learn about L.E.D technology. The government watches closely to utility bills when they feel as though they have a house suspected of illegal activities. This isn't to say that I have to worry about this, but you might, and that is why I am mentioning it. They don't just look at random bills and draw a suspecting conclusion from that alone.. they usually wait for a tip and then look at the past electric bills. Secondly, heat dissipation. It was a concern of mine 5 years ago and again today. In my part of the world it gets cold soon, does anyone have any solid info on infrared helicopter use by the feds? I know years ago it was ruled against the use of such devices but I also know for a fact they are still being used to determine heat sources within buildings that could be suspected grow operations.

Last but not least. I am not a greedy man. I was one of the most generous people a few years back. People around me, strangers, partied for free. Today money is tight and I am not able be as generous as I once was. I am looking for someone special to lend some pointers on the most economic route utilizing no more than 1500w of power, but most importantly, being safe from the law. That is where my curiosity in L.E.D's comes into play. A lot of what I have read on L.E.D technology is 2-3 yr old information.

Any PM's or responses appreciated

first, .5gm/watt is a pretty good grow for a first timer.

second, though i don;t know personally there is a lot of trash talk about leds on this forum. try searching leds in the tags of the search function and you'll get lots of threads discussing them.

I read somewhere that L.E.D's were ok for veg, just not flowering... which if I understand that correctly, I could use LED for the mother plants and the first 30 days of a cuttings life. I could be mistaken, as the data I gathered this from was dated to 2006.

I am indeed using the search engine, or as we used to say at another chemistry related board "UTFSE" (use the fuckin search engine) =P

Welcome to RIU. I too am interested in LEDs and fluoros as heat issues do have me concerned. There are good people here. Enjoy!

hey welcome to RIU! I don't normally read welcome posts but yours was pretty captivating. Anyway, good luck with your future grow plans. And if I may ask...how did you manage to blow through the funds from a couple 45k MDMA transactions? If I could even make a deal on that level I don't think money would be a problem for me again. At least, not for a long time.

Thank you all for the welcomes I have been browsing the boards and really like the layout here.

Achilles, you know the famous quote from spider man, "with great power comes great responsibility"? Well, with lots of money comes lots of spending.

It's very easy to blow rails of yay till 4am and decide to go to disney world on whim, booking the next flight out @ 300 a ticket x4 (one way) and then paying for everyone to do everything. Thats just one example of course.. young dumb and full of cum and cash.. if I could do it all over I would have invested 75% of all money in various legit sources. Ya live and learn.

I really like Disney.. it was the one place that I didn't need a lot of xanax to get through the day. Just a fat sack of nugs and good friends.
