Quick note:

After 5 days drying on wax paper, I put my bubble in to a small glass jar. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to put a lid on it at this point, but I did anyway, and discovered a moldy jar of hash a couple days later. Dumb mistake. Anyway, my second batch has dried, and it's been sitting in a small glass jar *without* a lid on it for well over a week, and the stuff is still like butter. Very fresh. My relative humidity is around 50%, and I have a hunch I could leave this out without a lid on it for at least another week or two and it would still be very fresh, primo hash.

This is probably captain obvious material for most of you, but I thought it was worth pointing out to any bubble hash newbs like me.

Does that microscope take shots of what you look at?
I have been real busy since I got it. I messed with it for about twenty minutes and it is awesome, so far. It has a button for pics, but I haven't taken any yet. Hopefully tomorrow I will check it out real good.

I don't want to jack sub's hash thread so I'll make this one post and anyone can pm me. This digital microscope is cool as fuck. I just messed with it for about a half hour. I have a few plush berry buds and a cheese quake plant in my office, so I fucked with it a little bit. I saw some stands that I need to order tomorrow. It does take pictures and it's cooler than I even thought it would be. I got it off Amazon for $75 (also found a book of Dank for $35!)

I've run multiple batches of bubble hash using this method, and I absolutely love it! I use trim, and lowers, and each batch has improved as I go.

I recently harvested some Serious Seeds bubblegum, and found a few of my lower branches came in contact with my soil. The buds had some dirt/perolite on them, so I didn't want to make bubble out of them being contaminated like this ..... but they were really nice lowers, so I didn't want to toss them either. So, I decided to give them a 5 day water cure in an effort to remove the soil, and still salvage the bud to use for bubble hash.

The end result was excellent! My hash went from being a light-ish brown color, to an almost white-sand type color. It is by far my best batch to date. Have any of you tried water curing your bud before making bubble, and if so did you notice any benefit/improvement with the end product?

My guess would be that the water cure not only removed the visible contaminants, but it also refined the marijuana even further by removing excess salts (for those of you not growing organically) chlorophyll, etc thus creating a more pure finished product.

Is there anything here, or am I just imagining things?

No I don't have growing pointers in the middle of my hash post.
The entire forum is full of grow advise if people will just take the time to read it :)

I have hit some of your, or one of your close associate's hash and man... it sure is fucking dnak!!! Shared some with my brother he thought he was hitting some heavy narcotics hehe

I tried the video links at the begining of this thread but they are not Subcools bubble hash method. I searched the web, and found a tutorial but wonder if it is his "latest" technique.

Like he makes slight modifications to his super soil recipe, I wonder if the his bubble hash method has also evolved.

My main question revolves around mesh sizes as I am preparing to order my bubble bags.

In the tutorial I watched, the 220, 160, 120, 90, and 45 micron mesh sizes were the ones he recommended. Does anyone know if these are the latest recommendations? Also, are their any new video links out there?

ok my personal answer to that cornacus is in this post......juuuuust this week made my first and second bubble runs so shout out to both subcool and matt rize for the tips they have strewn through the net...oh and shout out to the weed nerd for the recent hash class vid with matt rize :bigjoint: ....so first run used wet frozen trim and it came out very tacky sticky and after a day or two was still real stretchy but manageable..it wasnt very much AND SO THIS IS MY FIRST HUGE TIP TO ALL NEW HASH MAKERS that wasnt covered in subs video very well, see hes gotten good at this lol so his hash just collects nicely in the corner of the bags but mine was all the hell over the screen. you must take a sprayer or cup of water and round up these trichs before trying to scoop or you mash most of them into the screen and cant smoke em!!! maybe i was stoned and missed that part of the vid idk but in any case ive taken the matt rize technique here and just slide the bag down the outside of the container so the inside comes right up close and that makes it easier to scoop and see and collect the trichs into one spot second run two little grams of some killer already cured and dried blue dream. yielded as much as with the trim since i knew better this time and collected it right and also it dried way different more of a sandy look the whole time and it never got dark its sitting next to me looking like wet beach sand all crumbled into little chunks......so here is what i learned so far - i believe i like to use dry material better as i feel like the trich seperation is easier and so i like the yield plus the way it comes out better also as far as what bags to use the first time i ran the bags like sub said to in the video except the 25 instead of the 40 and you know that might be a good method for someone who has enough material to be worth it but if your just running small amounts or doing one run and one run only id suggest using the 220 then 190 (which you can discard, cook with, or smoke just wont be the best) then straight to the 25 the reason for this is loss by little bits getting stuck in each screen and in a single small run their isnt enough of each quality for it to be worth it your better off getting one nice piece that is easier to work with and still killer quality hash..if anyone has any tips on why i got gooey hash once and sandy hash the next time id love to hear them if it wasnt the wet/dry thing..or any other tips as im trying to get this technique down since i am happy to turn killer buds into a quarter of their weight in hash lol this shit is bomb!

For those of you that use Pop Corn nugs and buds to make your Bubble, do you break them up at all before freezing/putting into the ice water? I would think the big buds would need to at least be broken into smaller nuggets.

Would it be helpfull to cut up the small pop corn nugs a bit to expose more tricomes to the ice water?

I am sure one would not want to cut up too much as it could introduct more plant material.

Thoughts?

the best way according to the net...and this is what i did and was happy...is to break it up gently into nice small pieces with your fingers and then make sure to soak the dry material for about 20 minutes before starting to mix to let it rehydrate
