Sup Dudes,

i had to fire off an email to An since I could never dial in my res. using their chart i mean I had to totally cut it in half almost. So clearly I figured i was doing something wrong. Their response was pretty straight forward. The New calculator is for the pH & ppm Perfect system. if your not using that system use the old calculator:

Here is the link: http://www.advancednutrients.com/hydroponics/nutrient_calculator_old/

After looking at the old calculator, (besides them suggesting a shitload of other stuff) i notice that my EC was double what they suggest and guess what !! so was the dosage. So for 3 weeks I've been giving exactly double of what I should have been! Knowing this I'm thinking oh shit nute burn... then I thought dude i've been running this for three weeks and they're not burning so ... Pfft at least i know why my EC was so freakin high!

Strange, anyway i consider myself fortunate maybe shining silver haze is just a tough fucking puppy. But be careful dudes.

3 lessons to be learned here:

1. Don't trust shit, learn from those that know then test it for yourself!!
2. Learn your shit so you don't have to depend on manufactures to guide you down the path of the fucking blind!!
3. Had i applied the knowledge that i learned here on rollitup and before on Overgrow I wouldn't have even needed to email AN!:wall:

After further testing and growing. It appears that the Sensi line does "something" to buffer the pH. My pH at home run 7.6 out of the tap. When I add my nutes I'm down to a solid 6.5. I wonder if the AN nutes have been designed to have optimum uptake at 6.5 as opposed to 5.6??

I get 7.0ph from my tap. After adding all nutes and additives I get 6.8. I use all AN as well. I have found that even the old feeding chart can be excessive in its recommendations. I like how they print a ppm guide right on the label so you can fine tune your ppm from week to week.

I start at about 300 ppm and go up from there every week. Using the handy label guide. I never use a ppm gauge and never have any problems. On additives I just cut their recommendations in half. Except big bud and overdrive as the label indicates how adding the recommended amount will raise the ppm. I will shut up now. Good thread.

Now you gone and exposed the secret. The new AN is half the strength of the old. Look out for suit wearing stiffs driving black sedans.....It's Mike and his goons....................

Have you ever seen what happens when you mix piranha with bud factor x. The X and the piranha instantly bind together I use the powder form of piranha. First time I saw this I freaked out but fed it to my ladies anyway with no ill effects. I know that bud factor x is a reformulated version of scorpion juice with some added ingredients. They must work together x & piranha. Just curious if anyone else ever experienced this. Late.

'm flowering now (supposedly) so I'm mixing @ 70% strength and I get an EC of 3.85 ~ 4.15 (2695 ~2905) during the heaviest feeding times. I keep all nutes at 70% strenght even throughout the veg period.
