equal peat, aeration, and compost/ewc is Cootz mix, plus nutrient amendments. I like 50/50 ewc/compost or even more ewc than compost. That is the most important component to the mix. What compost and worm castings do you have access to?

Dobies.co.uk is my best compost site they have like 50 different bags i csnt decide on.

Yeah ecw is best i use that indoors ofc. But here its 15quid for 10litres.
My worm bin is only young including greenwaste is 20litres atm lol and not digested i just started.

My need n kelp cost a fortune to import too
So thaught to find cheap replacements. In kelp granuales slow release and the neem i not looked tonreplace yet.

The compost sections my issue as ivknow alot are shite and some have different properties.
For instancr they sell a wool compost. And a manure compost a veg compost and a mulch compost they have somany im lost if it was worm poo its no brainer as they are alot more diverse than manure pluss if ua feed worms manure it makes it more avalible again.
But springs here and its planting seasonnindont wana miss it lol

we start off with a potting compost and move on to an organic compost from our local tip, they turn all the green waste into organic compost and soil conditoner.
were lucky where we live as we have great top soil from a local farmer, manure from the same.
we also use amend, ments like chicken manure pellets, fish blood n bone meal and pellets, the pellets last longer in the ground b 4 being used up. seaweed meal. and we top dress with the soil conditioner

If you have a source for rice hulls they provide aeration as well. Some people use them in place of perlite. I don't use perlite anymore either. I hate that crap. I'm fortunate that I can drive to a place called Concentrates in 15 minutes and pick up a 50 lb bag of rice hulls for around $15.

Plus rice hulls are a sustainable product as it's the waste left over from harvesting rice. Just like coco coir is the waste left over from harvesting coconuts. Both are much more environmentally friendly than perlite and peat.
