generate C02 using animals?

what do you think of that idea? in teh grow room, have soem animals living there. ginny pigs. mouses. they will pump out good C02. is this dumb or a good idea?

Well they are just going to make a lot of poop to clean up plus they will get into your crop and snack on it. If in cages still you would make way too much work for what would be no real benefit. Who would clean up all that mess?

i'm not concerned with cleanup. I wonder if anyone ever talked about the idea of doing this. of course the animals wouldnt be outside cages. maybe have a cage with about 5 ginny pigs in there. they generate a lot of C02. it can't hurt. i don't want to make this out to sound like a weird idea, or silly. also, after a harvest yuo can feed the leaves to them , so recycliing the plant back into C02 and into the next generation.

if your going to use an HPS in there, thise mice may die if it's not vented well and they arent out of the way of direct light.

Even better, get some nasty rats. we got rats the size of small dogs around here in the summer. get some of those fuckers and put em in heavy metal garbage cans (really thick.) feed em scraps and get em stoned all the time! then release um in the burbs during mating season! damn, this could be cool...

I dunno man. Doesn't sound too crazy to me. But the only gas I know about animals emitting is cows farting methane. Not any good for plants. So I'd try to research that first.

I like the idea about the big rats in the trash cans.Let them fart and breath all day. As RussOr said after a few days you can let them out of the trash can. They will be blind from the HPS lights and they can fart and run into the walls all day. There is your CO2 man!!!!

All mammals exhale co2. thats like 3rd grade biology man. setting up a co2 tank would be way easier than takin care of animals though

fair enough. I forgot about the whole exhaling thing as I'm pretty messed up tonight. Despite all that Preo is right. Tanks are easier than trying to direct rat exhalations.
