Generated Electricty

My friend currently has fairly large grow going on that his parents don't know about and is worried about the electrical bill. I was curious if anyone knew of efficient ways of generating electricity. He says that purchasing a windmill wouldn't be deemed far'fetched by his parents but the possible 4-5 it will actually need to run all the lights would stick out. Also a treadmill would use up too much of his own energy to be willing to smoke another blunt so I doubt that idea would be considered, lol

you can get a generator that runs on gas or propane or solar panel
but that is loud, and expensive.

Solar panels are expensive but can you make enough energy from them to support the lights fans etc... that a grow room needs?

If you live in the desert and had an entire feild full you could support a room for half a day. Or as long as the sun is out.... Niightime is always a problem with solar. If you are going solar, go all out. Grow outside!

Not sure what a pretty large grow is to me I am assuming hundred plus plants and 6 or 8 thousand watt lights so the bill is gonna beabout $800 a month increase.If its pretty large then he should stop unless his parents aRE OK AS THEY WILL NOTICE.gENERATOR WILL RUN 8 HOURS A DAY SO 3 FILLS ADAY.Solar can run a grow op but is exspensive and you will need full setup around 40 grand.

If you want a serious reply here it is. Even the quietest gensets are too loud for your freinds problem. For the price of a quality unit he could buy a half lb. of the finest others can grow with little hassle. Tell him to move out before he starts a grow. Its the only way to do it right.

what kind of lights are we talking about here?

large grow 3 42 watt cfl's come on he lives with mommy

a few cfls arent gonna do much to the power bill even a 250watt hps isnt much. less than if you left your bathroom vanity lights on

So say in theory I want to grow two plants in a bucket hydro set up. The 250 watt hps won't cause a lot of electricity cost increase?

Well a 1000 watt light left on 24/7 for me raises my bill about $70 a month. A 400 watt light on 24/7 runs me$30.so a 250 which I have never used that small alight would be maybe 15-20 a month left on 24/7

if hes really that worried maybe he can get a giant hamster wheel and put his dog in it or something hahha

Wow what u talking about if u get the right solar panels used right how do u think people run some houses you generate so much solar electricty u dont have a bill well yes the standards u have to pay but no electricty in fact u generate so much free electricty the electrical companies buy back your electricty at the end if you read peoples gauges there at 0 iunno where u guys getting ur facts at. id personall do the excersises bike 1 cause at the end of the day u can have a drink, sit. smoke and eat alot cause ur tired and fucked up

his mom can afford to put a windmill in the yard but is going to notice/complain about a $70 increase in the light bill?

BTW, i used 7 CFLs on my grow, about 150w, running 18/4 and then 12/12. i compared, it was higher usage and bill the prior year, when i wasn't growing. CFLs hardly register on your usage.

Well, During all his troubles and whining I came up with the idea to hook his power source up to a 12-volt car battery. After arguing about the need for AC/DC conventors we parted ways. A couple days later he hits me up and says he thought it threw and wants to know if I can swing by to help put it all together. So I hoop in my jag and head over to his place and low and behold he has already gone out to get all the shit he needed. We didn't think 12v's would run the whole show so I told him to power only the lights that way when they shut down the fans can still be running while the battery itself conserves its enregy (since it is rechargable) it. This kids broke so he can't pay for all the little stuff needed so I'm helping him out in exchange for a little something free when the tables turn. So being myself trying to hold all his mess in my own pockets the great thought crosses my mind that when his current electrikity dies he should just replace the one he's got with other one under his parents hood and make them pay for it instead, and knowing him the grimy fuck probaly would. haha syf

just steal the power, install an on/off switch on the power mete If you pull the meter out there is a small 12 gauge wire that grounds the meter. if you splice you can make a switch elsewhere that will break the ground causing the meter to stop. Just know what day the check the meter let it run somtimes no one uses no power. but it can cut your bill in half. Dont be rediculous though, you wanna keep your power usage around what it usually is monthly....check your old power bills for usage...this isnt the smarted thing in the world to do, if you get caught stealing the power, youre most likely gonna get caught with the weed too....best of luck to you guys, you didnt hear this from me =0 your best bet if youre gonna do this is to do it at night when no one is around an try not to disturb the factory look and install of the meter.

These kids man, they dont' understand if you get caught growing weed in your parents' house, then the cops will be ON your ass until you're like 30 something and then you'll NEVER get to grow. What then?

I remember when i was a lil kid and my dad used to grow the stuff..
We were in debt or something so he ended up doing it, it was a meter where you buy tokens and put them in. It works..just don't get caught!!

I've read that that the number one reason most people get caught in Canada is from stealing electricity.
I had no increase my first month in veg using only cfls.
When I switched to flowering, using 400hps, plus ac unit, fan, and two exhaust fans, my bill doubled. Still only $80 for the month.
