Im planning on test out my :leaf: seeds by just putting one straight outside after germination. About how long should the root during germination be before i put it in soil?

Also if my first seed fails should i start them inside untill theyre a couple inches big? then transfer them outside?

it usually takes 24-48 hrs for the taproot to show, i like to plant em before they get long, it's easier that way, like barely coming out of the seed. do you plan on growing outdoors? if so, i'd forsure start indoors and then put them outside.

I put my seeds into the medium as soon as they crack and have 1/4" to 1/2" of shoot. Some let the shoot grow to an inch long.
Basically you just need to see the shoot and make sure you place the seed with the shoot pointing down.
Dont bury the seed to much, 2 -5mm below surface and make sure your medium is moist and it's in a warm humid environment.
You really want control over the environment at this time so sticking it outside is not a good idea unless it's humid and 70 to 80F outside all day and night.
I say get them up inside and then put them out.

i just put my seeds in the medium streight up. just make sure the soil stays moist around the seed until it sprouts. then start letting the top soil dry out. but, for better possibility of outdoor success, start indoors then transplant somewhere ideal. full sun. available water. and some rotting plant matter in the area. the rotting plant matter in the area helps with providing nutrients.

i have like a 3ft. mound of compost in my backyard so im goody for that. Also, does diluted pee help it stay healthy?
