I'm germinating an auto super hash and an auto blue tetracle and I keep checking by lifting the paper towels every few hours. The super hash has formed a very small root and the other one nothing at al . Do I wait for a larger root to form or not?

Look man, search this on google "400 watt MH/HPS Medical Grow Journal. Start to Finish. Follow my journey"

I don't know how this site feels about me posting links to external sites. I will not do it, But that first link if you search that will teach you how to germinate all your seeds every time. It is my journal on GC

I always get 100% germination using soaking method.

You are over thinking things if you think you need to plant the seed any way. Doesn't matter how you plant it to be honest. Just when you do it. Before any root is sticking out you want it in the medium/soil,ect. So the tender roots can grow. If you move it when it is this young and don't plant it when you need to then you will dmg and slow the grow. My log has tons of HQ pictures, you should look and see the right way to do it every time.

If you don't have aquarium water, use tap water is fine. Let it sit out 24 hours so any bleach/chlorine evaporates out

Rule #1 Simple is best
Rule #2 Don't use Nutes until you know what your doing. You going to kill this plant. It is a weed. Doesn't need much to live. Plant it 1/2 - 1/4 inch under soil and give it light. It will grow.

Don't water it again until it gets it first set of true leaves sticking out and has been at least 3 days since planting.

Step #1. Pop the seed by soaking it in water for 36-48 hours. When it cracks/pops
Step #2. Plant it.
Step #3 Don't touch it. Don't move it. Don't water it. In 30-48 hours you will see it breaking the surface depending on your medium, soil, perlite, ect. Typically 2-5 days it will break ground.

People want to always touch the seeds and move them and play with them in paper towels or keep watering them... This is wrong and should be avoided. After you "ACTIVATE" your seeds, by soaking them underwater for 36-48 hours. The soil/medium you plant it in should be watered and wet. Don't water it again until at least 3 days... Keep humidity up and temperatures right and you are on your way to growing like the pros.

Alright appreciated but you know I already put them in paper towels and the question I had was whether to wait or not

If the seed cracked you should of planted it soon as it cracked. Not when there is any root growth. Look at this picture.

This seed is ready to plant. Any later and you risk root rot.

Your good, just put that side down, and try to plant sooner next time. That root should be hitting ground and growing to break soil
not wasting energy to grow into a towel :)
