my friend started with 12 and 5 were males, he killed them off as soon as they showed.

he just harvested last week and noticed a few seeds here and there in the drying process.

hes been revegitating the plants after harvest, in order to clone/mother the favorites from the bunch.

i was in town to see him over the holidays and have looked at all the plants closely, no signs of any hermes

how does this happen??

are the neighbors growing male plants and sending buzzkill vibes?

Who knows. Maybe he didn't get all the males out in time. Maybe he did have a hermie. Maybe some rogue pollen got his girls. At this point it's a guessing game.

Male pulled to late, maybe. Hermie good possibility! A hemp x other strain maybe.

Hemp as in Nebraska dirt weed hemp, or otherwise known as industrial Hemp.
Outdoor growers like in Nebraska don't realise that industrial Hemp (dirt weed) grows wild all over the USA, and pollen floats very freely in the air.
maybe your friend got some seed that were affected by this radical free floating pollen! Maybe. Thus the reason for a good air filtration system for indoor grows. Just something to think about. I doubt this is the case, but one never knows.
