Giving Credit Where Credits Due

Possession of one ounce or less of marijuana in the privacy of the home is legal. The status of possessing an amount between one ounce and four ounces is unclear, pending clarification by the courts. Possession of 4 ounces or more of marijuana is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

Possession of less than 25 plants is protected under the Alaska Constitution's right to privacy (See Ravin v. Alaska). Possession of 25 or more marijuana plants is "Misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree" and is punishable by a fine of up to $50,000 or five years in prison.

Patients (or their primary caregivers) may legally possess no more than one ounce of usable marijuana, and may cultivate no more than six marijuana plants, of which no more than three may be mature. The law establishes a confidential state-run patient registry that issues identification cards to qualifying patients.

Thanks James!! I think it's an open and shut case; forget the card, keep it on the downlow and don't carry or have more than an oz.

Definately do not keep more than a qp in the house. What a bizarre rule!

Did any of you guys catch the recent overturning of a search warrant for smell? That's a great move in the direction of property rights.

The card is basically for safe transportation, might as well hit up 24 and dont keep more that 4 ounces..If your going the non legit route

The actual problem is on the amount of plants flowering/vegging and amount on hand for use. Also (See Ravin v. Alaska). Which is alot higher for People without a card. For people who use this for Medicene are only allowed 1/3 of that and less amount on hand for useage. I dont think its fair and im sure most other dont either. But like anything illegal , untill changes are made nothing can be done. We need to get togethar and discuss the grey area's of MMJ and make changes, so we can move forward as a State and help get on the road of getting Cannabis legal again.. bongsmilie

Be safe and have great grows

By being a card holder, state says that you can have 6 plants. 3 in flowering... a non card holder can have 4 ounces and 24 plants with no restrictions(still not legal).

So...our laws are a problem right? Our Medical Marijuana Laws are the worst in the country, the most obviously wrong, and we are the only state with enough people that respect sanity to allow privacy over bigbother.... The only state.

Contact Alaska Medical Marijuana Advocacy; let them know you want to help and to know what you can do. Stay tuned to the new thread PATIENTS / CAREGIVERS. You should also contact NORMAL, and get on board.
