I've been reading about glassblowing and what not and I want to give it a try, at this point i really don't know anything about this whole ordeal but thats where you guys come in. I need someone that's been around to give me a estimate on what it would cost to get set up. I've been looking at classes but I really don't know what would be best for me, obviously i'd try to make "tobacco" purposed pipes and what not.

Yes, I know it's not that cheep but i'm willing to spend.

How much do shops buy for, say your average 3.5- 4 inch glass pipe.

Hi Hiigh........ Shops love buying 4" glass pipes, they pay a whopping near-nothing for them. Why? Every new glassblower makes dry spoons and wants to have their local smoke shop sell them. Depending on what you do to the spoon, how much "work" is on it, figure about $5 to $25 for most you see in a shop. They'll double or triple it and you get the least of it. :)

If you want to make *money*, sell anything *but* spoons. But you do have to start somewhere, of course.

$2-$5k to start, $10k to have a working shop where you can do whatever you like.
