Going to start caregiving again, whats changed?

I am thinking about starting up caregiving again and I know lots have changed from years ago but I can't find much info on it.

Do caregivers need to register with the state now? Or is it like it used to be whereas find patients and simply send in a caregiver change form?

Is caregiving even worth doing anymore now that rec is going?

As far as I know caregivers dont have to register...they were only doing that if you wanted to have the state find patients for you to grow for. There will always be a need for good compassionate growers to care give even with rec live.
